At least he is doing well and have a long contract. Add to that he is english and plays a position that gets some attention these days and we should be able to get a decent fee. If he doesn't want to be here then it's best to just sell him when his stock is highest.

Yeah, it feels like it could be win-win at the moment. We could even bring him back to sell him in January if there's decent interest.

That was my thinking too. We need to sell when he is top of his value, and there is no guarantees that he will have a good second half of the season at Forest. So if he has no interest in playing for Boro we just need to maximise our profit in him. But what kind of London team have the money and potential interest? I can only really think of Fulham, as I doubt the Prem teams will be looking at him.

Is there still that rule where you can only play for two clubs in one season? 

If there is then any Prem team interested would probably either have to buy him now and loan him back to Forest or us or just wait until the summer.

I think it's three clubs now to allow players to move late in the summer transfer window and then move on again in january if necessary. Edit: but can only play official matches for two clubs. That closes the argument of whether Spence can be sold on unless it's Forest that come up with the cash.
