Any of the ITK posters who posted correct information around McGree and VDB injures previously know if any of the injured players are back in training this week please,

There was talk of VDB, Howson and McGree being okay for Preston. Also doubts over Burgzorg. I know others are further away.

I don't expect club to release any training photos this week and don't expect MC to give too much away in his presser so not to give Preston any clues about what team might be on Saturday

I have mentioned on here more than once, that sicknote McGree should have been available for the Portsmouth match, which he didnt featured in & none since, to be so close then not even in the squads since tells me unless he's named on the day of the match I dont believe anything regarding him being close/available

Feel like you're overly harsh on McGree mate. We have other players who have suffered recurring injuries that you don't really mention (Fry, Forss, Bangura) but take every opportunity to put the boot in on him. He's not refusing to play, he wants to be part of the success here, you can see that by what he puts in on the pitch when he's available and the fact hes signed a new contract when no doubt he could have held out to go on free and demand higher wages.

What makes you think he should have been available for Portsmouth? You’ve said in your last sentence not to believe what you hear regarding injuries (presumably this is from MC pressers) and you’d be right too. McGree wasn’t in training until this international break so he was never close to being available. Can’t remember if MC said this? It should be common knowledge now to every Boro fan that any injury update given by Carrick is basically useless.

This isn’t aimed at you Erimus but there seems to be some fans (usually on Facebook/twitter) that think Riley is just faking his injuries and intentionally not making himself available for matches. He’s literally just signed a 4-year contract this summer.

Dont think I have been harsh on McGree at all, its how I see it, I have said the exact same in previous posts regarding Fry & Forss, I have said all 3 players are reliable for being unreliable

Maybe McGrees injury at the club put off potential buyers we'll never know, yes he is very important to our game plan but if he's going to be sidelined, along with Fry, Forss & Bangura for the majority of his stay here then it doesnt matter how good he is

Its one of the problems I have with all the ITK/rumors floating around online these days - it's not necessarily the person giving the info, its that people can't separate fact from rumor. People get ideas of peoples character and then stick to them even if all the evidence points to the contrary - there are people who will question McGree's loyalty at every possible opportunity from now because of rumors of a fall out last season & various rumors around why he hadn't been signing a contract. Despite the fact that he clearly gets on fine with management and has signed a contract. Same will probably go for ELL because of all the half truths that were flying around on deadline day.

I'm certain opinions get passed on too and people receiving them think they are in the know facts also, I'm sure that's how the hackney west ham one came about, epically since he was linked loosely in the press not long before

I know its not aimed at me Borosmoggie

I dont think he's faking any injury, I just think in the short time he's been here he's been out more often than in, Forss the same & as is Fry, all 3 are big players for us who would be in & around the first eleven every week

Fry played more than anyone last season, so your comment doesn't stack up I'm afraid.

Carrick said McGree was taking longer to recover than expected. There's no issue there I don't think. That happens.

It's better we get players fully fit than half fit. We are covered everywhere now so need to rush people back at all. I'd rather have them all available after Xmas than now. That's when things get decided.

The irony of this coming from a betting sponsor 🤦‍♂️

It's easy to talk about supporting mental health when you're making £44.5 million post-tax profits per quarter (Kindred Group's own figures for Q2 2024) from people gambling money they may not have or be able to afford. Not all of us can put a flutter on the FA Cup Final and leave it at that.

I'm honestly not a censorious person by nature. I respect people's rights to do as they please, and I'm a big advocate of freedom of speech. Normally. But I really do wish the Government would ban gambling advertising in the UK. Having lived with a gambling addict, I've seen how destructive it is. It's a scourge. For MFC to continue promoting gambling so brazenly, year after year, makes me respect the club a lot less. And I will never, ever buy a replica shirt with gambling sponsorship on it. Being able to buy a sponsor-free shirt at the Club Shop is a token step forward, but shame on Boro for agreeing to yet another two years of being Unibet apologists.

Put it this way - if a football club is obligated to change their sponsor on kids' shirts on moral grounds, their adult shirts shouldn't have that sponsor either. Plenty of teams have the same sponsor on every home and away shirt in their club shops.
