I think with the locals mentioning the 2 times they have been payments its probs confirms this is the 2nd time we triggered something, as I always think this gets leaked so the club gets a pat on the back. one for the cup win and one for this if its triggered. Marvanelli 2,081 1.4k
https://www.thetransferflow.com/p/the-up-and-coming-championship-youngsters-you-should-know Not the first time I've mentioned this website and yet again, they're bigging up our boy Hayden Hackney. Today's newsletter/post is regarding the Championship youngsters we should be aware of and know about and at the top of the list is Hayden Hackney. He passes both eye test and data test. £20m is the minimum we should be getting, if we don't get promoted. Hayden Hackney — Middlesbrough Hackney is 23, so we’re stretching the definition of youngster here, and he’s certainly not unknown to readers of this newsletter. But I couldn’t do this post without briefly mentioning that this guy should have moved to the Premier League this summer, and it’s ridiculous that all the teams in the bottom half of the table with crummy ball progression couldn’t find £20m in their couch cushions for this dude. While Hackney certainly has some athletic limitations, I’d be willing to be that someone who’s been as consistently good at ball progression as him over the past few seasons can figure out how to remain a productive player despite that. Erimus74 5,966 5.9k
6 foot 2, eyes of blue, Stuey Boam is after you, sung the holgate Sad news on hearing the passing of another member of the great Charltons Champions team Boro paid Mansfield Town £50k when we signed Stuey in the summer of 1971, along with Nobby Stiles & what a figure he became at the Boro, my favourite captain who quickly established himself as a tough no nonsense hard CH, putting his head where some players wouldn't put their feet, between 1971/1979 he made 378 appearances, scoring 16 goals 14/8/1971 - Making his Boro debut away to Portsmouth in a 1-0 defeat 30/9/1972 - First Boro goal in a 1-0 away win at Blackpool 1973/74 - Big Jack made him captain in our magnificent, unforgettable season where he vecame one member of the telepathic twins alongside Willie Maddren 13/3/79 - Final Boro goal in a 3-1 home win over Derby County 11/5/79 - Final appearance in a 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool Fantastic captain in the best Boro team of my time supporting the Boro RIP Stuey Boam, thank you for the memories, now take your place alongside Big Jack, Ian McFarland, Willie Maddren, Bobby Murdoch & David Armstrong Edited November 4 by Erimus74 2
Erimus74 5,966 5.9k
It did seem the case that he never missed a Boro game, which he did, but they were so rare, he was like David Armstrong in that his name was constantly pencilled on the teamsheet, he only missed 14 games during his entire time here, amazing record He never missed just the one game though, it was always in pairs, or in two different seasons three games together, which leads me to believe the majority of matches he missed were through suspension 1971/72 (51 games) Two games together x 2 Blackpool H, Oxford A. Carlisle & QPR both away 1972/73 (47 games) Two games together. Portsmouth A Luton H 1973/74 (47 games) Every game 1974/75 (53 games) Every game 1975/76 (50 games) Missed the 2nd, third & 4th games of the season only. Wolves & Birmingham H. Burnley A 1976/77 (48 games) Every game 1977/78 (51 games) Three games together. Leicester A. Man City & Norwich H 1978/79 (46 games) Missed two games, the 40th & 41st games of the season only. West BromH. Derby A
