A few Boro players on social media saying this is the hardest first day of pre season of their lives. At least they'll be fit!

Or knackered;)

The Matt Ritchie link got me thinking about how many goals we scored direct from free kicks in the league last season. I can't think of any off the top of my head. Does anyone know or can name any to piece it together?.

Went through all the games on the Wikipedia page of all the results. I'm pretty confident that we didn't score a single direct free-kick last season, yeah.

What a season that was.

I quite like to read a book on a train, the journey passes so quickly and it takes my mind of the football. ;)

does anyone else cringe a bit when managers (and teammates) put a Y on the end of players names like when Pulis today said “Paddy and Flinty add a bit more to the squad,”. They are grown men for gods sake. I realize Paddy is his name so I'm talking about Flinty

Not really, it's far from just being a football thing. I know a Smithy and a Wardy who are well into their 30s.

I get the thing about nicknames. But Flinty:)

Flinty is alright, it’s when people start adding ers to their name it makes them look like fools, ie Flinners. ;)

    • As is typical of the FAI Robbie Keane signed a 4 year deal at the time that McCarthy signed a 2 year deal so he still has a contract. However it is understood that Stephen Kenny does not want him in the senior set up. Kenny wishes to work with Keith Andrews as his assistant and Damien Duff as coach.
    • Hello everyone, Hope you are all well, I see ROI have bought forward  theyu21 boss appointment as boss of senior teams to replace Mick McCarthy. Does anyone know if that means Robbie Keane also left? Cant find anything other than FA thanking Mick and his staff for they work.
