Could Fletcher be our best finisher?

I deffo think he should be a part of the first team..

Would love to see him given 3-4 starts, to show, IF he is better than Britt. He for sure is better than the 2 huge donkeys.

A great Athletic article on our youth recruitment in London (copied from the other site): Saturday afternoon in the north London postcode of N22: on White Hart Lane a steady stream of fans make t

The Times interview today with Chuba. I’ve missed all the pics out as I don’t know how to get the whole article across and it’s behind a firewall, but you get a good feeling of what he thinks.

Superb article from The Athletic published today... Gives you a real sense that something special is being built. We've been crying out for this for so long.   Michael Walker 2h ago  2

Would be crazy if Fletcher turned out very good .. Remember what peopke thought of Traore in the beginning. He turned out allright, when someone believed in him. Maybe Fletcher is the same.

It's the price that screwed Fletcher tbh which wasn't the lads fault tbf. If he was signed up at say 2-3m as a bit of a prospect he wouldn't get half the grief he does. Strikers are a weird breed though, sometimes it just clicks after a bit of faith is shown in them. Harry Kane was a perfect example, had a few loans and looked very very poor even in the championship. Arguably the best 9 in the world now.

Every time I've seen Fletcher in our first team he's looked really bad, but even on last season's terrible form I think he's still better than Hugill and probably no worse than Britt.

Maybe it's time to give him a chance again, I'm not sure he can be any worse than what we've seen in the first team so far this season.

Tony Pulis: 'Nobody can accuse us of not being creative'

"But if you have a look at our midfield, I think Besic and Howson are the best in the Championship in terms of their touches in the final third.

"People say, 'You've only got Britt up there' or whoever, but no, we're actually playing with five attacking players up there. There's Howson and Besic, the two wide players or the two wing-backs, and whoever is playing up-front.

"We specifically looked at Besic and Howson this week to see how many touches they were getting in and around the centre-forwards, and those two are the best in the league."

He added: "If Martin (Braithwaite) takes that chance, the game opens up. The whole thing changes. The longer the game goes on with us scratching trying to get a goal, we become more uptight and they grow in confidence. I've been in loads of those games in my life.

"Even the one Martin pulls back for Britt that goes behind him, if Britt stays and holds his ground, he scores. He doesn't have to go in there.

"There's two goals and it changes the game. We need those sort of breaks."

That's a strange quote about our creativity, surely being creative is measured in quality of touches rather than quantity!

Besic is a good player but there are times when he actually holds onto the ball too long and takes too many touches.

Would Paul Scholes have been less creative because he had the ability to play one touch football?

I do agree with his quote about the Braithwaite miss though, that chance should have been put away and then I think we probably win the game comfortably.

He’s living in cloud cookoo land. Touches mean nothing if you have no idea what to do. We’re beyond doubt the best defensive team in the league but the seventh worst team in the attacking department. For such an expensive team to be so dire attacking wise falls back on the manager.

He clearly walked into the press conference with this complete rubbish pre planned. He’s obviously heard all the talk of our lack of creativity but instead of considering it may be true he’s got his blinkers on and persuaded himself this is all true. He’s blind to it which unfortunately means the problems will not be addressed.

And till I trust him more than all you keyboard warriors in here....

Am I a keyboard warrior just because I have eyes in my head and don’t like what I see. Jebus. Good for you that you are enjoying watching the football Pulis puts on. I wish I could but I just don’t like it.

And if this football does get us up, somehow - you realise it's going to be more of the same, possibly even worse in the PL?

If we get the points needed to stay up then Ill be happy too. Gibon will get money and he will be happy too. Even if we go direct down. or maybe he can sell to saudi Arabia if we go up?

I doubt Pulis will stay here next season even if we get up though, not saying the next manager will be better though, it will probably be Woodgate, atleast if Gibson still is owner....

i  think that outcome is what Gibson has pinned his hopes on. accept and trust TP and what he brings and if we srcape up we find ourselves in a tough league to survive in but with the survival specialist at the helm....if it doesnt come to fruition and we fail to get up  theres the pre set walk away excuse with Pulis as his 18 month contract is up anyway.  Gibson says this was always the plan and Woodgate or someone else takes over with a fresh start .. big problem being thousands of fans have been disillusioned with the lack of entertainment and need enticing back , we wouldnt be a cash cow and the whole system would need revamping with more creative squad.

So its a huge gamble on scraping up .
