New Championship season 2021/2022 kicks off on evening of Friday 6th August.

Final game is 7th May 2022

Championship play off final is Sun 29th May 2022

*Hope we kick off the season at home on Friday evening. Decent crowd back at home for the curtain raiser would be nice.

Great quote from Kevin Blackwell in the Athletic today 🤣🤣🤣

It's my birthday today, meant to be my 30th but I've refused to allow that in current circumstances of not being able to celebrate it. I usually get my age on the back of one of my shirts so I re

Can't keep our full defence fit at all this season, gutted for him. He came back better than ever from injury at the end of last season, I expect him to do the same when he recovers this time.

@Dan_Boro_Till_I_Die just brought this twitter thread to my attention on Championship goalies.

You will notice Betts is in the bad category in every stat and is very near league worst in a lot of them.

Christ that's a bad look. Begovic is free at the end of this season isn't he? And he's been on English football for donkey years so surely should have enough English to keep Neil happy

Poor guy, I hope he makes a full recovery.

Yeah but where is the graph about communicating with the defence?  He’s right at the top of that one.

He is, but I think his status will depend on what league Bournemouth are in. I can see them re-signing him if they stay in the Championship.

The lads a crock. Good player but cant keep fit

It's not like he's getting lots of niggling injuries keeping him out though, he's pretty fit and then he gets whacked with something serious. The knee injury last year, the abscess and now the ankle injury.

Does anyone know how long such an injury keeps you out for in terms of months?

Couple of months isn't it?  Don't worry, he'll be raring to go for his summer holiday!

Damn, thats the 2nd time this season...he'll be a big loss defensively. Gonna be that much harder to keep clean sheets now (and by extension pick up points).

According to the article he's out for the rest of the season - so thats 2 months minimum. Hopefully he'll still be able to get in a full pre-season to get back to fitness when we go again in the summer.

    • All-seater stadium? Bloody luxury! When I were a lad we had to sit on cold concrete steps and be grateful! 30k crowds for Premier League fixtures? I remember when Boro played in front of two blokes and a dog! And one of 'em were the bloody groundsman! Youngsters today don't know they're born...
    • Exactly, every time we change manager, we throw the baby out with the bathwater, tear up whatever plan was in place and start from scratch. Instead of looking at what worked and what didn't, keeping what was good and building around that. Or at least building around some core philosophy. If Karanka were a decent man manager, he'd have been ideal to rebuild around for another shot at the PL. Instead Boro have pinballed their way through season after season with new managers, short-term fixes and apparently little planning other than to keep the club's head above water financially. I think it is glaringly obvious (except, sadly, to the people that matter) that Boro desperately need someone like Webber, who can think long term and draw up a plan that will allow the club to progress, even if it includes the odd setback. Funny really, you would think someone who's been in the business as long as Gibson has, might have picked some ideas from some of his peers. Or maybe he just hasn't been rubbing shoulders with the right people? Or maybe he really is just stubborn and refuses to relinquish any control?
    • A bit like half the squad then.
