Why the hell shouldn't we be ambitious, you've achieve nothing by being negative

Well it has been a very dour and boring game just no ambition whatsoever. Poor juke he just can not get any good action with Boro at the moment

Agree - we have been very poor today...probably made Hull look a lot better than they are.

I'll say again that I hope this is purely a short-term dip due to fatigue and not indicative of another serious loss of form.

I don't think its lack of ambition so much as lack of energy and drive. There have been a few brief flashes, but overall its been a very flat performance.

AK did field a lot of first team players, so I think he genuinely wanted to get a result, but he knows the condition the players are in and who was likely to last 90 minutes and who was desperately in need of a rest. I'm sure he picked the strongest 11 he could.

Well Blackpool have got beaten today and so their dreadful run continues so lets hope that Cornishboroboy can get us back to winning ways with his match day thread

I was just hoping for a nice cup run Anglian Red, I'm certainly not expecting promotion! So as far as I'm concerned, that's the chance of winning anything, gone.

Foreign manager, doesn't understand what the FA Cup means, or how much passion can be instilled into the club by winning a couple of rounds.

Yes!! I like your style!

We've got more chance of being invited round Unger's house for turkey dinosaurs, than we have of promotion, 2plus2.

Well I don't like turkey dinosaurs anyway :D

Promotion is unlikely, granted. But top 6 is far from out of the question. From there anything can happen. And just achieving that play off finish, or even just coming close, offers plenty of excitement between now and the end of the season.

I just want us to be competitive, compete at the right end and show ambition.

    • Boro flashback 10th December 1988 Boro were back in the 1st division & going well, 2 home defeats so far was testament to the progress we were making as a club going forward, Bruce Rioch had us playing excellent, passing football & this game was certainly the case, he spoke in the morning papers before the game that due to the recent history of Boro v Villa games this one should have been the live match & my was he right, it certainly lived up to it Villa went in to a 2 goal lead, Boro drew level with goals from Mark Brennan his 3rd goal of the season & Gary Hamilton with his 2nd, then, bang, Tony Mowbray scored what we thought would be the winner, from 2 nil down we are 3-2 up & looking formidable going forward, Bernie Slaven thought he had put us 4-2 up but the linesman's flag was up & the goal wrongly disallowed We were to suffer for the linesmans error, as not long from the end Mcanally pushed Cooper out the way & shot past Stephen Pears to bring the scores level Boro 3 Villa 3,  what a game Bruce's team Stephen Pears Gary Parkinson Colin Cooper Tony Mowbray Gary Hamilton Gary Pallister Stuart Ripley Mark Brennan Dean Glover Peter Davenport Mark Burke Sub No12 Bernie Slaven Sub No14 Alan Kernaghan
