Why the hell shouldn't we be ambitious, you've achieve nothing by being negative

Well it has been a very dour and boring game just no ambition whatsoever. Poor juke he just can not get any good action with Boro at the moment

Agree - we have been very poor today...probably made Hull look a lot better than they are.

I'll say again that I hope this is purely a short-term dip due to fatigue and not indicative of another serious loss of form.

I don't think its lack of ambition so much as lack of energy and drive. There have been a few brief flashes, but overall its been a very flat performance.

AK did field a lot of first team players, so I think he genuinely wanted to get a result, but he knows the condition the players are in and who was likely to last 90 minutes and who was desperately in need of a rest. I'm sure he picked the strongest 11 he could.

Well Blackpool have got beaten today and so their dreadful run continues so lets hope that Cornishboroboy can get us back to winning ways with his match day thread

I was just hoping for a nice cup run Anglian Red, I'm certainly not expecting promotion! So as far as I'm concerned, that's the chance of winning anything, gone.

Foreign manager, doesn't understand what the FA Cup means, or how much passion can be instilled into the club by winning a couple of rounds.

Yes!! I like your style!

We've got more chance of being invited round Unger's house for turkey dinosaurs, than we have of promotion, 2plus2.

Well I don't like turkey dinosaurs anyway :D

Promotion is unlikely, granted. But top 6 is far from out of the question. From there anything can happen. And just achieving that play off finish, or even just coming close, offers plenty of excitement between now and the end of the season.

I just want us to be competitive, compete at the right end and show ambition.

    • No I've been told the same but the wages wouldn't be a huge issue. From what I've been told the percentage isn't enormous and the amount wouldn't be a huge issue for the club. Again I can't say more than that. (other than it shouldn't cost the club more than 10k per week apparently)
    • Giving up on a young player after one costly mistake sounds like horrible player management.
    • Middlesbrough v Birmingham Tuesday, 19:45 - The Riverside Stadium   "Well, at least I had the Christmas period off......"   The Form Middlesbrough last six: LLDDWW Two consecutive defeats on the telebox within the last week sounds ominous, but if we had got started quicker in both games the results could have been oh so different as Boro seemed to grow into both games. A brilliant December results-wise, which saw us pull away from relegation and had the more optimistic of us dreaming of sneaking into the playoffs. As Woodgate struggles through a very congested January while trying to keep players fresh, results are starting to suffer due to rotation (Rudy F'ing Gestede as a lone striker?!?). Hopefully this is just a blip against better teams and not the MotM curse rearing it's ugly head.   Birmingham last six: DWWLLD Brum have started to pick up a bit of form - and a couple of red cards - in their last 6 games, with goals aplenty being both scored and conceded, but only 2 losses registered. Former Tony Mowbray signing Lukas Jutkiewicz leads the line for Brum, having scored 9 goals so far this season. Pep Clotet's side currently sit in 18th, 1 point and one place below Boro, having scored 34 and conceded 45 so far this term.   The Line-Up It's a shame that this game was moved forward, as Woodgate alluded to in his post match interview it doesn't leave much time for anything but recuperation, and a bit more rest would be nice.... however, Birmingham do have a day less, so every cloud!  Hopefully we will see Fletch start up front again after his cameo against Fulham, and maybe Wing on for Clayton. You also have to wonder how long Coulson and Spence can go without a rest, but who would you replace them with at the minute?       Woody-Vision *Will be updated after the pre-match press conference*   The View From The Other Side *To be updated when I find it*
    • I mean Oxford's on 20k a week with a potential 2 million pound fee at the end of it goes well the Gibson stuff is a completely different ballgame he's on minimum 40k a week plus if there was a potential fee the minimum would be 8-10 million I don't understand why Gibson gets spoke about when every other name we're linked with or are reportedly scouting are just nowhere near that level financially. Reading up on Oxford's season apparently the manager just lost complete faith in him after substituting him on vs Schalke and then late in the game Oxford misplaced a backpass causing them to score the winner and he's been cast out of the starting XI/fringes since there's definitely an interest from them in cashing out on Oxford this month. Even at 20k a week Oxford would be in an upper bracket for us that's why I'm glad it seems like a loan to buy because going forward next season I don't see us having many 20k a week subs around the squad.
    • We were awful at Birmingham.  If he thinks she was giving him a hard time then it's probably a good job he wasn't having a read of this place.  We were dreadful and plenty of people on here were talking about Woodgate and his job.
