Boro V Leicester City (A)

Recommended Posts

I'm expecting a 1-1 or 2-2 draw, or a 2-1/1-0 win for us!

Think it'll be 2-1 to us though :)

I don't feel that this is an especially big game.

It's an excellent benchmarker, but it's not going to determine whether we make the play offs or not.

There are much more important games to come against teams around us and the play off spots. It would be nice to keep the momentum going. It's only a big game in the sense that EVERY game is a big game!

I was just about to post the same thing. Like you said, every game is a big game, momentum is ideal but the real big games for us now are against those around us. But I think there won't (or shouldn't) be any angry fans should we come away with nothing. We're not (or, again, shouldn't be) expected to. Though it would be nice, naturally!

BUT if we do win, or even draw, it'll be another massive confidence boost, which is significant and can't be overlooked.

Right this minute I will gladly settle for a good "road point" as I feel it will be a very tight game as often they are against Leicester and if our luck holds like not losing a player or missing a penalty and the pitch is not covered in snow then we can gives The Foxes a very good game.

This could be a game with just a single goal deciding the outcome and maybe just maybe Leicester's winning run will come to an end.

Massive game and one to judge where we stand against the top and middle of the road.

Have no doubt that they will test our defence early and pile pressure on us but they do need to take into account our break away speed and I did read on one of their forums Leicester fans making the same comments. They will fear Carayol and Albert if fit.

Speed and control will be vital

Biggest game of the season DS?

Not the most important so far no SB but a massive one and any point is to be seen as a bonus:)

Wasn't the same fixture last year on TV. I'm sure it was. I also remember a cracking game where the only difference between the two sides was their strikers (Nugent I think) ability to finish. And we lost 1nil. I remember thinking we'll do well the rest of that season as we played really good against a strong team. How wrong I was.

But unfortunately u think the same will happen. To good teams cancelling each other out and it will be decided by one goal to the team that can convert their chances. Which will probably be them.

Uwe Marvin missed a pen it was freezing cold and team walked to game as got stuck in traffic due to snow

the only reason why the game went ahead is because it was on Sky.

Leicesters run has to end sometime, they were out played by Leeds, who's tactics were spot on, so this must be the blue print to getting something out of this game. I don't think we have been playing overly well lately but have been winning ugly which is encouraging. Think we could get a point if tactics are correct and we have a bit of luck but i also wouldn't be surprised if we lost 2 or 3 nil if we don't turn up.

Can't see past a boro win here. We are in great form and our defence has really stepped up, so I don't think Leicester will score while we seem to score in every game. 1-0 boro.

Be a proper tough game this, a game that a couple of months ago, despite usually being eternally optimistic regarding all things Boro, I'd of been expecting us to roll over and let Leicester walk all over us. Not anymore though, we look a completely different beast under Karanka.

It's vital that we have Adomah fit for this, I think we didn't look half as dangerous as usual with him not playing against Charlton, and it showed what a huge player he is for us. Hopefully Kei is fit enough to play a good chunk of the game too as I really rate him.

I definitely think we'll score, so I just hope we look as solid as usual too. A win there would be absolutely massive and our confidence would go through the roof. We're definitely more than capable of getting it, but I'm thinking a draw.

What I've gained from reading the leicester forum:

If we go there and attack, they'll win.

If we go there defend and counter attack, they'll win.

If we play 4-2-3-1, they'll win.

Basically, we'll lose no matter what.

Really? I might have said that if we were playing Blackpool at home but we're playing the in form league leaders away from home. Why so confident?

    • The poster who mentioned Warnock wanting one more job to reach a milestone. Just found the article. He is 12 games short of reaching 1500 games as a manager. Said he would like a job to end of season to reach that milestone. We have 12 games between now and end of season. Its almost as if it was meant to be...
    • What you thinking for this Leeds game Durham? I know people say anything can happen in the championship but I will be stunned if it's not at least 3 nil to Leeds.
    • We do normally sack managers on Monday nights so still have my fingers crossed 🤞.
    • This post absolutely nails it and is by far the biggest problem with the club. The Media are absolutely terrified to criticize the club and point the finger, afraid of being excluded from the club like the Gazette were for a time.  I've been to a few Boro events which Maddo has attended and he is a really nice bloke but he simply should not on BBC Tees if he's working for the club. Its a conflict of interest, he's not going to criticize those at the club and in turn he has this false spin that he puts on the radio. I remember in September when he said this season is one of transition, well i'll tell you right now that the ST prices do not reflect transition and must be lowered but we know that is not the case. The problem is at the club as it seems no-one dares question Gibson, he wont allow it and I dont think thats a healthy working environment to have.  Everyone right now is absolutely slaughtering Woodgate, for me personally I won't because I dont think its right. Gibson is the one who shoulders the blame and he can own this casserole of ineptitude. I dont think one person of sound mind wanted Woodgate appointed at the end of last season, the club tried to string it out as if they were extensively looking at all options. This was a ruse and Jonathan was their choice all along.  Finally, its one thing appointing a rookie manager who no-one wanted, for the cheap option. But if your going to do that at least give him some proper funds to get some quality players to refresh the squad and give him a chance to succeed. So now when the inevitable does happen, Woodgate like Mogga will be the fall guy to have his reputation damaged. The fans will be convinced the next manager will be the next messiah, overlooking the upper management teams atrocious judgement and thus the cycle begins again.  This ones on you Gibbo.
    • if you want any semblence of fence sitting on this ,im afraid imnot your man. as many others have stated... he should NEVER HAVE BEEN EVEN CONSIDERED for the job but against any other eoples reasoning ,Gibson in his latest fit of egotism and self importance did what HE wanted and hey ho ,all us lesser mortals have our misgivings show themselves right in front of our eyes. Wodgate is actually proving to be WORSE THAN I FEAREDhe would be, infact id go as far as to say hes possibly the worse ever manager to have managed in the whole  history of english league football . hes beyond incompetent. YES YES YES HE NEEDS TO GO. .......AND HIS COACHING BUDDIES TOO. HELL ,EVEN GIBSON IF IM OFF THAT FENCE.  IVE UNFORTUNATELY HAD THE BAD LUC TO BE SADDLED WITH HAVING TO COMMIT MY FOOTBALL SUPPORTING LOVE WITH MFC FOR 50 PLUS YEARS AND SPENT VAST AMOUNTS DURING THOSE YEARS WITH A HANDFUL OF GREAT MEMORIESPLUS A BUCKET LOAD OF SAD MEMORIES TO TAKE WITH MEBUT THE SHEER HELPLESSNESS IFEEL RIGHT NOW IS MAKING ME REALLY DOUBT IF I CAN STICK BY MY HOMETOWN CLUB.  IF gibson doesnt satisfy the masses before its too late woodgate will take us into obscurity and drag gibbo into the abyss with him and the mere fact that neil fecking warnock is being heralded by some fans to rescue us tells us how low the hope has fallen.  crisps...........i lost my keeness for them when tudor was bypassed and im oldscool packet colour wise blue is vinegar browmis beef green/cheese n onoin   red ready salted  my faves were and always will be beef or cheese n onion,  but no crinkle style or weird shaped things   crisps should be thin  .  pringles are the only other option.
