What about K.Kamara? Surely he should be fit enough now and start ahead of Main. Everyone seems to have forgotten about him.

I could not believe it when I woke up this morning and read that about Main starting . He would struggle for a game at Yeovil in this league so why is karanka constantly playing him... It's embarrassing .

Is he his bloody dad or something !! My only criticism of AK so far. A strikers job is to score goals how many has main got this season ?? 0? Or maybe 1 I can't remember either way it's not good enough to warrant a starting place.

Yes Main does defend from the front but I'd rather have a striker that can attack from the front better than he does at the expense of some pressing. Actually Main could work well v Blackburn tomorrow as they've just sold the club captain Scott Dann so they could be struggling with communication/understanding in defence so his closing down could cause them loads of problems.

Given

Varga Woodgate Gibson Friend

Leadbitter Chalobah

Adomah Ledesma Carayol

Graham

Dimi; Omerou, Hines; Whitehead, Butterfield; Main, Kamara

Would be my team. And I'm going for a 2-0 win.

Also, "Did you know it takes just 1 hour 15 minutes to get to Manchester from Blackburn on the train, incredible stuff" made me laugh so much.

Main is useless. Runs about a lot, anybody could do that. He hasn't got a footballing brain.

Please start with Graham. If he isn't for 90 mins, give him 65/70 and then bring on Kamara.

I can't see how graham can't be fit? He hasn't been injured has he? He played plenty at hull earlier this season and he will have been training all the time and the same at Boro . Sorry mr. Mourinho's friend but you have to play him or kamara over main.

I'm not Main's biggest fan but I disagree. Not everyone is willing to put in the shift that he does and he's clearly an excellent option if the manager is implementing a pressing game.

I'm certainly not saying that it's the way I'd play, but Karanka's keeps getting results. Maybe Main's job is to work the defendrs to fatigue before introducing Graham to capitalise.

I'm sure there's method behind the madness!

    • That still shouldn't take away the good move by mcnair to first steal the ball, break forward and play an inch perfect pass across the pitch right into the feet of Watmore. At this level you would easily see a bad pass. It was a lot more than just bad defending. By that reckoning you could say that most breakaway goals are down to bad defending as the opposition team have committed men forward and left holes. McNair exploitet that perfectly.
    • My personal favourite quote from Woodgates interview with Carragher - “I just wanted to get away after I was sacked, but we were in a lockdown. So I went to Ibiza for 4 weeks.”    That quote alone tells you we were absolutely mental to give woodgate the job at boro 😂 couldn’t wait to go and get off his face
    • Meanwhile at a Tony Pulis Sheffield Wednesday home game.... 1 shot on target 22% possession... 3 shots on target in 4 games
    • Maybe it was the total count of all games played. 😗
    • I think the general feeling around his appointment wasn't personal, it wasn't an agenda against him, it's what putting him in charge represented, the downfall of the club, some referred to it as the idea that our club simply hadn't bottomed out yet and putting Woodgate in charge and what happened with him in charge only created evidence of that. In the end, nobody was gonna look beyond that when results weren't going his way, they weren't going to stand by him because it meant standing by the club and their decision to appoint him too. I had a hard time with it because I wanted him to do well, I wanted to believe we could create what he said we could under his tenure... but we were going down, we got rid and we stayed up. And now this season, despite the fact we're not even close to the principles we set out at the start of last season, we are going back in the right direction. How can anyone be anything but more convinced that Woodgate was a dreadful appointment? Those that were thinking more personally because of his character were really not even close to being 50% of the fanbase. Those that brought up the Leeds thing and all that, that was a small minority of people. So if it's not them he means then who is he saying had an agenda against him? Those that thought he wasn't going to be a very good manager at the time we appointed him? Because they were right.
