Townsend is so overhyped it's unbelievable. He had a good run of games leading up to his England debut then he just went downhill. I'd rather take Adam Johnson

Im only basing these on the last games that they played for England. He was a great breath of fresh air and didnt seem to be rigid in formation

He's just coming back from 2 months out injured

After his England debut but before his injury he played a good 7 or 8 games for Tottenham and did absolutely nothing.

I thought Townsend looked fantastic after he made his England debut. I was doubtful beforehand, but up until he got injured, he looked excellent. Was the best performer for England in several matches too.

I can't believe I'm the only one who would like.to.see Heaton given a chance. No one would have given burnley a shot at promotion this season and I think if they continue to do well be deserves a spot on merit

Hart, forster, foster, ruddy are all far superior keepers to heaton and should all be on the plane to Rio ahead of him.

Hart and ruddy I agree but foster? Hardly been in sparkling form has he and forster us really an unknown quality. Celtic are hardly pushed in the SPL are they?

Would still rather him be on the plane than Heaton. Foster has been in pretty decent form and has international experience previously.

Forster looks to be a quality player. Commands his box well and is a good shot stopper. I appreciate that Celtic might have it easy in the SPL but he's just set a new club record for a number of consecutive clean sheets. Heaton is not better than him.

hmmm, each to their own i suppose. again a club record with no real opposition dilutes it a bit. only real opposition they have had this year is in the champions league and i don't think they performed that well in that comp.

I am no fan of international football and given the choice of watching paint dry or watching England I would opt for the a quick drying matt finish nine times out of ten. I suspect we will take the same old faces to Brazil and get the same old result. But one thing is abundantly clear to me - we are playing at least one game in tropical conditions and others may be quite warm to and at the end of a season a midield which includes more than one of Gerrard Lampard and Barry simply will not be able to compete. It makes no difference at all how well these players have operated in an English season they simply will not have the energy or mobility to cope. I suspect the same can be said of Cole at left back (which is why Chelsea are not playing him). So of the older players I would only take Gerrard and would pack the rest of the team with younger legs and hope they learn how to play international football as a team rather than 11 individuals to prepare us for future tournaments becuase we sure as hell won't get past the quarterfinals here (infact i can't see them getting that far).

I get to see a fair bit of Scottish footy as my mate's a celtic fan. He rates forster as a***st their best players, and I have to say I've been impressed from what I've seen.

And to be fair celtics group had barca, Milan and ajax :p they were never going to do great!!

But as you said to each their own. Heaton has been in decent form, but he wouldn't get in my England side is all. Let's see who hodgy drags on the plane with him :p

This gave me a good chuckle :D

@BBCSport: England v Denmark: Forster, Foster, Hart, Ruddy; Baines, Cahill, Caulker, Ashley Cole; Glen Johnson, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker

@BBCSport: England continued: Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Frank Lampard, James Milner

@BBCSport: England cont: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Townsend, Jack Wilshere, Jermain Defoe, Lambert, Rodriguez, Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck.

how the likes of cole, cleverley, Smalling and milner get into the squad on a constant basis say to me one of two things, one there is no depth to the english talent or 2 roy will pick the same old people regardless of form or game time.

I'm quite happy we've selected 4 keepers...just incase 3 of them get injured :D

But some baffling selections nevertheless. I feel sorry for Adam Johnson...Cleverley is awful I can't believe he gets selected everytime

It's a bit strange that there's 3 LB's. Hodgson will most likely only be taking 2 to Brazil so will be casting his eye over which one to leave out. I can't see him leaving one of Cole or Baines at home so it must be Shaw.

I'd have liked to have seen Curtis Davies and Tom Huddlestone given a chance, probably ahead of Smalling and Carrick.
