With a academy player on the bench can anyone say what the current issue is with regards to Parnaby...............is he injured, not mentally strong enough or simply out of the equation altogether?

What's happened to Hines as well? Is he still injured?

He has a thigh strain apparently

Has he played at all under Karanka?

haven't been involved in recent match day threads, who's this david Atkinson? any good? I haven't heard him being whispered about much

the Lineup looks good and well balanced, I'm hoping ledesma and carayol are fired up and perform.

the options on the bench look pretty good also to me ::) Williams last minute worldy anyone? :)

is adomah injured btw?

One of the weakest substitute benches I have seen us field for a while, hoping for a win but only negatives atm

Adomah isn't injured, just left out.

People are unhappy with the decision but equally others have brought up good points like:

1. he hasn't been very good lately.

2. he played midweek

3. we have a game on tuesday we might be saving him for.

Adomah fit but left out of squad. No-one's quite sure why, but either Karanka believes he isn't performing in training/matches and needs to be dropped, or doesn't want to play him at all as he played during midweek.

EDIT: What Brunners said. That's twice in quick succession I've been beaten to the post. I need to up my typing game.

Good to see tomlin start but like others I'm a bit puzzled about adomah. Guess he needs to add some consistency especially if he wants to go to brazil. He was good coming on against Leeds though. Dimi isn't a long term solution though so I expect Steele to start the next game.

Bottom of line though is we have to score today. I'll gladly take a 1-0 but would so wish everything will come together today and we will score a few.

Sounds like Higgy wants a game (he's on the pitch at any rate)! ;)

@Downsouth: will do my best! Oneboro is running even slower than usual for me as I'm waiting for a ludicrously slow update for my satnav to complete.

Oooh! Friend with a shot over the bar!

Sounds like we're determined to break our duck today...

    • The last section is the exact reason Wigan won't win their appeal. The EFL simply refuse to acknowledge that their set of tests is not fit for purpose. They even then mention another case where that was evident (Bury).
    • The owners haven't massively overspent and run the club into the ground. From what I have seen Wigan is/are a fairly well run club in terms of finances (in a football sense anyway). But the owners have literally used the club for some very murky reason. They sold the club to a new owner (a fund) that the old owner was the majority shareholder in. Then immediately installed a new majority shareholder to the fund that now own Wigan. That shareholder bizarrely has no online footprint at all, other than everything related to him owning Wigan. This man then on the exact same day he has acquired the club has placed it in administration. It is that reason that Wigan are appealing the decision. All of the above of course was signed off by the EFL themselves. Which opens a whole new can of worms.
    • https://www.efl.com/news/2020/july/efl-update-wigan-athletic/   Here is the latest statement by the EFL on the Wigan situation. I agree with a lot of what they say up until they start trying to defend their fit and proper test.
    • Apologies when I said 1/4 of the creditors, I was meaning 25p out of the £. I should have made that clearer. In terms of our situation in 1986 I'm not too well versed with the details (as it was before my time). But I'm pretty sure we were going into Liquidation rather than administration.  I also imagine that the EFL regulations/rules have been updated since 1986.
    • As far as I can tell it's the only argument that they can even try to make, and even that's weak AF.
