Aitor post Bournemouth: "Looks like a cruciate injury for Muzzy, we're not sure yet and we'll need a full assessment."

I know this is going to sound a bit crappy, but Muzzys injury now gives us the upper hand in negotiations, that being said I hope he makes a speedy recovery etc

I was sneakily thinking the same too :)

Sort of how Bates didn't want to sign a new deal when he was heavily linked with Everton and Swansea etc only to get a serious injury.

I can't be bothered now. The season is well over. We are just going through the motions until Karanka axes half of the dross in the current squad over the summer.

I wouldn't say they are dross (just look at Jutkiewicz since he went to Bolton) - they simply can't play the way AK wants them too.

As I said, he needs to get more of his type of players in, before he can make his favoured tactics work.

Well said, I've been saying for ages that we have several players who are unable to play the system Karanka wants us to play. He needs to bring in players suited to the tactics he prefers otherwise we will not improve sufficiently to become a threat in this league!

Bournemouth not a team to be underestimated.

I predicted a home win for this one because I feel they are a stronger team at present than Boro.We are still finding the back of the net a hardship .Looking at Bournemouth they have only been beat at home once since December and that was by top of the league Leicester.

But if Woody is playing instead of Gibson then we may well get a draw from this game if we are lucky.

would trust gibson and omeruo to get us a clean sheet, they have proved that they are solid together in the last few weeks, we are a better team with woody but gibson has been brilliant most times he has played this season

You were right James, Gibson saved the day with vital tackles that maybe the old man would have struggled to get to. :D

I tip my hat to you.

Could not agree more AR.

Which is why I feel that AK is treading water at present and there will be a major clear out pre-season. But I would love to see us keep Varga and possibly get another season loan with the 2 Chelsea lad's plus I still think that Jukes could have a future at the Boro. I actually rate him higher than Graham if I am honest.

Graham has never rocked my boat has a striker.

Gutted about carayol injury! Hope it isn't one of these that'll bug him for the rest of his career.

Not too gutted about the result. As others have said, we're just going through the motions. Just a pity that we've been going through the motions since about the halfway point of the season :-/

I'm still ***ed about the Leadbitter situation. I was so mad that he got booked for a small kick out at someone who'd been all over him a second before hand when Bournemouth were allowed to full on punch Leadbitter with no action.

Surely a decent manager makes the mist if what he has? I'm not criticising him but he seems to have one play in his book and the team are struggling with it.

When you have a long term plan, you set that plan in motion as early as possible. Even if it means playing the dead weight at the beginning until you can bring in what's needed at a later stage.

Some ratings.

Dimi: 9. Won us our point with two absolute BLINDERS in the second half. Both were flying as far in the top corner as they could before he got to them.

Varga: 7. Coulibaly had the beating of him speed wise but you can see he was smart enough to adjust and started cutting him off sooner or taking the better angle. Won one tackle in the first half that was so good it was basically pornography.

Omeruo: 8. Another solid game. Won everything that came his way, made a few good interceptions

Gibson: 9. This guy will be an absolute stud. He won everything, made some top blocks as well.

Friend: 7. Made one mistake that I can remember all game, played a couple of good balls in the second half. Him and AA weren't linking up quite as freely as I'd like though.

Leadbitter: 7. Was super heated right from the beginning after that punch. Seeing how the refereeing was all game I'm surprised he only got the booking for the kick out. Not surprised he went off when he did because he was flying in everywhere.

Whitehead: 6.5 Won a few good tackles, played a few good balls but most of the time was pretty invisible. Got booked for what looked to me like a perfect tackle.

Carayol: 6. Had the beating of his man when he got going but he didn't get going enough. Often couldn't knock it past his man. Injury was unfortunate and it looked serious immediately.

Tomlin: 6.5. Actually started out pretty well. Made a few great passes, had one opportunity where he took to long on the ball and ended up losing possession. The talent is definitely there, just needs to settle down. Disappeared as the game went on, but was surprised he went off for Chalobah.

Adomah: 6.5 Same as Carayol basically. Had the beating of his man when he could get going but just didn't do it enough, also lost the ball when trying to knock it past all to often or he just played an awful final ball.

Graham: 6. Worked hard, but he actually has a god awful touch on the ball. He was trying to control it and was just kicking it straight to them. Once he tried to go around a guy and ended up barrelling into them. Had one opportunity early that he blasted over and one in the second half that he barely connected with.

Subs:

Chalobah: 7.5 Actually thought he played really well. He was all over the pitch, made a number of crucial interceptions.

Ledesma: 5.5. I'm not sure he even touched the ball.

Main: N/A, only played 5 mins at the end, didn't touch the ball.

Poor game, We just look lost really... BUT another clean sheet build from the back for next season, Reckon there will be plenty of change next season....

Bournemouth wont be happy with that point more possession more shots more corners...

Some ratings.

Dimi: 9. Won us our point with two absolute BLINDERS in the second half. Both were flying as far in the top corner as they could before he got to them.

AGREE but his kicking is woefull

Varga: 7. Coulibaly had the beating of him speed wise but you can see he was smart enough to adjust and started cutting him off sooner or taking the better angle. Won one tackle in the first half that was so good it was basically pornography.

SORT of agree his positioning is really poor sometimes and with the ball hes poor

Omeruo: 8. Another solid game. Won everything that came his way, made a few good interceptions

AGREE he looked good defensivly but looked panicked when in position and went long far too often

Gibson: 9. This guy will be an absolute stud. He won everything, made some top blocks as well.

COMPLETELY AGREE MOM

Friend: 7. Made one mistake that I can remember all game, played a couple of good balls in the second half. Him and AA weren't linking up quite as freely as I'd like though.

AGREE id give him 8 just short of mom

Leadbitter: 7. Was super heated right from the beginning after that punch. Seeing how the refereeing was all game I'm surprised he only got the booking for the kick out. Not surprised he went off when he did because he was flying in everywhere.

AGREE. But while he was on was one of our best players

Whitehead: 6.5 Won a few good tackles, played a few good balls but most of the time was pretty invisible. Got booked for what looked to me like a perfect tackle.

AGREE very suprised when he stayed on

Carayol: 6. Had the beating of his man when he got going but he didn't get going enough. Often couldn't knock it past his man. Injury was unfortunate and it looked serious immediately.

AGREE not his best game hardly had the ball and nowhere near hes usually posetive self

Tomlin: 6.5. Actually started out pretty well. Made a few great passes, had one opportunity where he took to long on the ball and ended up losing possession. The talent is definitely there, just needs to settle down. Disappeared as the game went on, but was surprised he went off for Chalobah.

AGREE. Looked busy but for a stocky lump got knocked off the ball all the time

Adomah: 6.5 Same as Carayol basically. Had the beating of his man when he could get going but just didn't do it enough, also lost the ball when trying to knock it past all to often or he just played an awful final ball.

SORT OF AGREE first half he was hopeless misplaceing passes second better but everything looked at half pace

Graham: 6. Worked hard, but he actually has a god awful touch on the ball. He was trying to control it and was just kicking it straight to them. Once he tried to go around a guy and ended up barrelling into them. Had one opportunity early that he blasted over and one in the second half that he barely connected with.

DISAGREE here thought he was one of our better players and anyone saying he doesnt work hard enough hasnt watched him play, he did struggle to control some balls but ronaldo would have struggled with some we played to him

Subs:

Chalobah: 7.5 Actually thought he played really well. He was all over the pitch, made a number of crucial interceptions.

Ledesma: 5.5. I'm not sure he even touched the ball.

Main: N/A, only played 5 mins at the end, didn't touch the ball.

Completely agree with the subs

We looked at half pace , we started well first 10 but after that our passing was slow and the guy on the ball had no support .

We played far too many long passes most to no one , i hate to say it but they passed the ball so much better and had more options all game , they also closed us down better ,

I may be wrong (hope so ) but we looked like a team with nothing to play for

I think the lack of goals has very little to do with the forwards . We dont pass the ball well enough to have possesion on the edge of the area so all the balls graham gets are passed 40 yds so he has little support
