Could someone please sum up the first half for me, been out playing five aside, second half sounds lively, missed Adomah's second too, had perfect radio signal in my car until i got through the gates of my halls and suddenly lost it and got some orchestra belting out at me, i wasn't impressed one bit.

They scored, then we scored, then they scored again.

We didn't offer much going forward and our goal, both goals now, came from defensive mistakes, the first being a poor back pass.

Seems to have been a game of lots of mistakes, we sounded second best in the first half and they seemed more likely to get a third than we did to equalise. Second half and we've brought Tomlin on and Butterfield is now playing in midfield.

In that formation we need two specialist players- one defensive and one attacking, ive said that for ages, its how the system works. Its why im convinced leadbitter will be off or third choice after summer.

Not true, the two central midfielders sit and hold `zone 14`, google zone 14 football and you'll understand, its where 70% of goals in modern football come from, hence why the system is so resolute defensively.

From deep, they're not expected to drive forward, they're meant to lay the ball off to the 4 more attacking players, very occasionally will they break into the box, their main focus is to set off attacks rather than finish/put the final ball in.

Perhaps I didnt explain. Yes, theyre both holding. But ones main goal should be to defend and one to drive the ball forward. Just because a player is attacking doesnt mean hes not holding. Best example is busquets and xavi.

Maybe hold was the wrong word but they aren't expected to be bombing on into the box as it's so important they're back in position as when you first press the ball they need to be back in position to stop the ball into their strikers feet

Yaya toure being the prime example of this. And no, I'm not comparing yaya and butters, I'm just saying I want butters to play like toure.

I didnt say anything about bombing forward, just that ones main purpose should be to create from deep and support the attacking midfielders and ones is to shield the defence. Of course roles can interchange to an extent but for the most part these jobs should be filled by a specialist.
