Boris is nuts. Don't get me wrong, he's got it more together than he's ever let on and his path to Downing Street has been well forged, allowing people to popularise his silliness for a laugh. But it's things like BJ being PM and Trump being President that make me think that some form of the dystopian future that has long been hailed in fiction is effectively active right now in the present.

There will be a vote of no confidence pretty quickly i suspect

The Conservatives (and indeed either of the major parties, were they in power) would never throw a slim grasp on power away by voting for no confidence in the government, unfortunately. They've already banded together once to dismiss that. They'd rather continue with a chaotic Tory government with a leader they can't follow than risk putting Corbyn in charge.

Shame for him as he was making some good time on Bernal, but looking at it is the right decision to stop it.

Only person to gain from the early finish was Alaphilippe. There’s no way he gets within 1:30 in Bernal/Yates on the descent. And then he is screwed on the final climb, where everyone would have taken considerable time on him.

Shorted stage tomorrow (59km) up Val Thorens. Ineos will just drive a high tempo to ruin Alaphilippe’s ability to break.
