Literally only Newcastle in England out of those who have declared their votes north of Stroud and Oxford who are actually voting Remain. Scary.

Thankfully referendums are not legally binding. It's frightening that most people who voted actually don't know anything about the EU and have based their opinion purely on immigration without contemplating anything else. Claiming immigrants are coming over here and taking their jobs even though they got those jobs on merit. It looks like a 50/50 split with no outright winner.

52-48 to leave by the looks of it. Currently over a million more voters for leave than remain. A fairly convincing win in the circumstances, and certainly a strong enough mandate to force the government to invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

I genuinely never thought we would achieve this, what an incredible night.

I was on the fence, so I'm not too bothered if we did leave as I could respect and appreciate both sides. But the people crying about it and moaning about "racist bigots" dictating the vote is exactly why I'm sorta glad that Leave did win.

Its just pathetic.

They are a lot of non-racist people who are against the EU but they got totally side-railed in this campaign in favour of a giant smear campaign.

Very true sadly the remains campaign has been to label every one on the leave side as a bigot or a racist these are the people that have slated them for saying they only know what they are shown on the tele about immigration and don't know anything about the EU but have themselves only done what the media has pushed them to do by saying every leave voter is a racist with out thinking that a lot of these voters have their own minds and many will be as well educated as remain, I've stayed out of this topic mainly because apart from voting it's been nothing but a hyped up chest pumping excersise which now will prove with the losing campaign who are so dignified and well educated resorting to name calling and insults.

Really shocked at the result. Was convinced I'd wake up to a remain win. Hopefully this'll just be one more promise a politician doesn't stick to...

They gambled on the result last night and got it wrong; there was always going to be a reaction to that today. Coupled with the economic scare***ering from the remain campaign it's no surprise to see the pound take a hit. It will recover over the next few days/weeks.

I can see a United Ireland referendum in the not so distant future after we voted remain in ni.

Scotland will absolutely leave us behind now, they've got a greater fuel to that fire now.

Cameron leaving is just the next stage of the apocalypse. To be honest, if he had stayed I'd only think his Remain campaigning was a smokescreen, at least he was genuinely on the Remain side of the fence. He's made the right call.

I'm just now scared envisaging a country run by Boris for the next 4 years. Don't get me wrong, he's much smarter than he lets on with his stupid facade. But absolutely do not believe he is the right man to lead this country.
