I’ve had it on quite good authority that Jason Manford is a sleazy snake of a man

Really? 😞 That would upset me because I like Jason.

A good friend of mine went to see him and exchanged phone numbers under the guise of getting tickets he then pursued her for meeting up for drinks even though he was married

Ross Noble supposedly is a very lovely bloke, I would be extremely surprised if that turned out to be who Billy was talking about!

My guess would actually be Peter Kay, I think.

One of my work mates met Ross Noble in Nandos. Said he was very nice. Signed a napkin for her.

I do hope you're not talking Bob Mortimer @BillyWoofs_shinpad!

No @Brunners guessed right it was indeed Peter Kay.

I’ve not properly met Bob, I’ve seen him at a few away matches but never disturbed him. I’m sure he’s a very nice guy. I worked with Vic once and he was a little distant, but nowhere near as offish as Peter Kay.

It's well known within the standup comedy industry that Peter Kay is an absolute bellend.

Of course the few people who have publicly said it have immediately been accused of jealousy, but yeah, he's not a nice man.

Jimmy Carr on the other hand, is a cracking bloke and nothing like his comedy persona. Sarah Millican is (or was, haven't spoken to her since she became famous) really down to earth as well. She's married to Gary Delaney who is a lovely guy and again, nothing like his stage persona.

There are many "celebrities" that suffer from spectrum disorders and while they can perform on stage, off it they can be very socially awkward. Their alter egos are often part of their complex make up of who they are and how they ended up being the class clown. There are many insecurities going on and when they are off that stage there is great fear and anxiety that once the mask is removed they will in their own minds be exposed as a fraud.

Fair point, but I've heard from multiple people in the industry that he's just a really nasty, spiteful person and awful to work with.

Spot on, I worked with Jimmy Carr on the 11 o’clock show years ago, he was a lovely guy, great fun and very down to earth as was Will Smith (not that one, the one from the thick of it) both funny and personable people.

I agree, comedians in particular are complex people and I’m always slightly apprehensive before I film with them as you never really know what you are going to get. I filmed with Alan Davies in February and he was lovely although I think the chance to escape home schooling his kids for the day was a major factor.

    • Be a good signing defo better than what  we have , he’s only not been playing because they’ve switched to playing wing backs
    • The last winger we signed after playing with Warnock at Cardiff turned out so well...  Another 31 year old looking a last pay day who hasn't performed in the last couple of years. Couldn't get into an average Cardiff team this season.  So utterly unimaginative, like everything else this club does.  (If it goes through of course)
    • Dan no doubt Gatland has decided if you cannot match the physicality of the South Africans there's no point in going. It seems to me that there is not a lot of time going to be spent playing "pretty" rugby.  He's learnt from the England defeat ( and others) that these guys are efficient, strong and prepared to do what is necessary to dominate.  He has also spotted what he thinks is a weakness he can exploit. He might also think he can exploit them around the fringes late in the game hence Curry and Simmons not to mention Itoje, Byrne and Lawes who can be a nuisance from minute 0ne.   Billy Vinipola may be a big lump that can move a bit but he will get massacred by the Boks and he has not been that good for a couple of years now.  The Boks had his measure in the W.C. final and he has not improved.  Why people thought he should be in the squad was beyond me.  I was far from sure he was worth a place in the 6 nations squad Ah well it is all opinions - remember the Matt Dawson try for the Lions - that was special.  they are going to have to be that special to win this
