Snowblind 1,734
Very positive, but frustrating season in 2021/22 for me... After a frankly crap start, we finished 7th in the Premiership. Sold my star regen CB to Juve for £30.5m after he requested to move; luckily already have his replacement after signing a Brazilian wonderkid in January for £6.5m. For England - reached the World Cup Semi Finals before narrowly losing 1-2 to Italy. There's a good, but difficult, addition to International management in this one; the fatigue is far more pronounced. With the English players not having a winter break, many have the orange 'RST' button Next to them throughout the tournaments, so you've really got to juggle! Been offered the Napoli job, but rejected it. I have made a seperate save, though, in case I fancy going back later and going in a new direction! Tip: Sergio Diaz at Cerro Porteno can be bought early on for around £600k and becomes a great poacher. Also, there's tons of great regens that come through Sweden!
Borodane 6,297
What's the best way to discover regens? Do you send scouts to specific countries at specific dates, or do you just go through their national youth teams? For my second season in the Championship I've managed to loan Thorgan Hazard and renew contracts with Adomah and Ayala. I've also reloaned Kalas and brought in Bogdan on loan for the vacant keeper positiion. Iv'e sold Nugent for 2 million, Forshaw for upwards to 7 million (4,5 million now) and managed to get a 2 million fee for Carayol. My budget was 75k but the wage budget was relatively generous and with big earners like Nugent and Rhys Williams off the wage bill I have been able to tweek it a bit. Brought in Kristoffer Ajer and Saponjic last season and I think they will be playing a lot more this season. ALso bought a you RB called Petar Stojanovic and even though he played the entire first season my board still complain about his signing. He didn't have a very good season, but neither did Friend. His stats are improving though and he is only 20 years old. I wouldn't mind selling Stuani though and their have been some offers from the PRem, but they haven't been good enough and as he is on modest wages I can afford to keep him. Snowblind 1,734
I hire scouts with nationalities which cover the globe, essentially. Even if you can only have 3/4 scouts, get 2 with the best Judging Player Abililty & Potential stats you can, and then look for scouts from Africa, Scandinavia, South America etc. Even if those scouts have crap stats, they'll find potential wonderkid a in those countries and you can re-scout them with your better rated scouts. ;) if you've only got a few scouts, have them scout by region. Sweden, Ghana, Czech Republic, Argentina and Brazil have been the most fruitful for me.

Funny you mention Sergio Diaz, I had him for a while. Got him for £450k and sold him next season for £5 mil. At the time, my yearly expenditure of salaries amounted to £1.1 mil. chipchat 61
I salute you for getting to season 21/22 already, Snowblind! I'm only just on my second season! Got Boro up as champions fairly straightforwardly in season one. Will do a run down when at my laptop to get the details all down, but sale of the season had to be Kike to Malmo for 7.5m. Gibson was another sizeable sale, off to Watford in January for 8.5m with a 50% sell on clause. Like I say, will add details later. Had a save corrupt on me so had to go back to the one before on the rolling save and messed up my pre-season for the Premier season. Best check I still signed the players I thought I signed! Season one transfers (for fees or notable): OUT: Ben Gibson (Watford) 8.5m, Kike (Malmo) 7.5m, Nsue (Brighton) 1.8m, Wildschut (Wigan) 425k. That's it for transfers for a fee. IN: Rossbach (Odd) Free, great keeper, Andre Dozzel (Ipswich) 1m, Gianluca Scamacca (PSV) 550k, Guilermo Varela (Man Utd) 450k and awful, Caleb Stanko (Freiburg) 190k, Oliver Nafors (Varbergs) 24k, Simen Olafsen (Follo) 22.5k and looking the business, Nuno Andre Coelho (free) solid defender, James Wilson (Man Utd) loaned in after Kike sold in March. Season two transfers so far (not yet reached first game of season): OUT: Leadbitter (West Brom) 4.2m, Carayol (Sheff Wed) 3.5m, George Friend (Sheff Wed) 1m, Varela (Charlton) 450k and good riddance, Baptiste (Bristol City) 300k, Dimi and Rhys a*** free transfers. De Pena, leave, please leave. IN: Iorfa (Wolves) 4.5m, Richairo Zivkovic (Ajax) 3.4m, Jack Stephens (S'ton) 3m, Jores Okore (Aston Villa) 1.4m, Andreas Bruhn (Aab) 475k, Andrea Casiraghi free, Enes Unal (Man City) incoming for 5m, was great in last year's game. Borodane 6,297
What's clear is that if you choose the wrong half time teamtalk you're almost guaranteed to throw away a win. 8/10 times when you are ahead and you don't get the right talk your players will throw away the match regardless of tactics. Yeah... I have to be very, very far ahead in a game to even consider telling them well done, lads, I'm very pleased with how you've played at half-time.
jamesp 125
Anyone started a save with Boro, finding it very easy, 8 points ahead after 17 games, Stuani is ripping the league apart

Very much up and down. Hard to find consistency. Just wait for the inevitable losing run. Stuani was very hit and miss for me. Scored 17 but was poor otherwise. Sold him for 4 million after I missed promotion and bought Gayle for just 450k. Decent swap for a championship club. Hope to win promotion this season.

Yeah... I have to be very, very far ahead in a game to even consider telling them well done, lads, I'm very pleased with how you've played at half-time. It's the same pre kickoff. If you don't get the exact right team talk you will almost always lose the first half or at least concede first. You can then make up for it by half time by demanding more in the second half. Tactics is only second to team talks. If only I could choose the right one pre match.
Snowblind 1,734
Get an Assistant with a high Motivation attribute and a personality that matches your squad. I had Paul Clement and use him when I'm not sure what Team Talk to select, and he's pretty good.
Borodane 6,297
Think I'll have a look at that if I'm promoted. The staff restrictions in the Championship is ridiculous.
Borodane 6,297
James Vaughan is absolutely insane! He's scored 7 goals against me in two games meaning Iv'e lost 0-3 and 3-4 against them. First season he scored 25 league goals and this season its 16 in the 13 games he's played.
Borodane 6,297
I'm giving up. It's impossible for me to find any form of consistency in this game. It's always one step forward and two steps back no matter what I do. After 42 games in the second season I'm 7th and my record is 16 wins, 15 draws and 11 losses, scored 65 and conceded 54. CurtisFleming 86
I think it's just you BD. If anything I've found it quite easy. :D
