Transfer Centre Live ‏@TransferCentreL  3m3 minutes ago

Middlesbrough are interested in signing Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet on loan.

And it's finally out ...

There's your Leicester defender.

Why do we want him? I count 2 fit right backs and 2 soon to be fit right backs. What is the point of this?

Can play anywhere across the back.

Yep transfer market has him down as a RB/CB/LB and iirc he featured heavily in their promotion winning season and even last season.

Smashing, wasn't sure if he was just another RB. He is a good player, just so are Nsue and Kalas. Cover at CB and LB is great as Amorebieta leaves a lot to be desired at LB in comparison to Friend.

Pretty much ends our Lindelof interest also I guess.

Right, we’ve reached 3.30pm and there’s still seven-and-a-half hours left until the January transfer window closes. Plenty of time.

I’m now off to try and find Jordan Rhodes. We’re expecting him to arrive at Rockliffe this afternoon.

I leave you in the safe hands of Dom Shaw, who’ll take you right up until 11pm with all the incomings and outgoings on Deadline Day.

Thanks for following this morning - let’s hope it’s all worth it!

If we manage to get a winger as well as the 3 mentioned, we really have been busy boys! Rhodes, De Sart, De Laet and Phillips to add to Kike Sola and Ramirez with only Kike and Fabbrini to leave.

I still doubt Phillips will come off as well as these but if we are in for a winger, we couldn't do much better than Phillips.

De Sart and De Laet?

I've never been one to turn down double De's :D

Triple D's, we already have De Pingu. All of them will be a handful.

@reluctantnicko

It's now guaranteed to be slightly mad tonight. Rhodes happens ... then an awful lot may spin off back of it. Tonight. Or in loan market.

De Laet on loan, De Sart on loan and Teixeira on loan?

Seems implausible that would surely pass the loan limit, hoping the Belgians have it right and De Sart is permanent.

So I'm guessing Rhodes isn't coming to Rockliffe today then? Not necessarily the end of the world as the deal could just be getting done somewhere else.

What makes you say that, he's expected at Rockliffe any minute.

    • Two scoring draws last term between the teams and always a close call before that. Forest you would expect to shrug off their poorish start and to progress, but they will also be desperate to start winning. However I would suspect Houghton will be content with a point at the Riverside but for Boro we need to start winning back to back games and I believe we will be too much for Forest and achieve a rare event of late. Maybe travelling teams will be showing a bit more respect towards us as a whole but I do think the game will be very different than seen against Coventry. Going for a home win though at start of season would have been ok with a draw
    • Forest have so many attacking options, IF we win this it'll set a great marker for where we are heading.
    • I can see Spence dropping to the bench and one of bola or Johnson stepping in, with tav on the right. I assume that was the purpose of the subs the other night. roberts back to the bench as well perhaps.... if no akpom, I’m comfortable with Browne starting, he has done everything asked of him so far. Midfield and defence picks itself, barring injury
    • So I've seen lots of highlights recently where both penalties and red cards were given, I thought they'd moved away from red cards if it was a penalty, or is it still a red card for being last man?
    • Hopefully Akpom is fit and if he is I would go to a 3.5.2. I would also bring Coulson in. I want him to succeed here and NW said he looked bright in training. Betti Dijk Fry Paddy Tav Howson Morsy Sav Coulson Britt Akpom I would love a win but i rate forest. Would not be too disappointed with a draw.
