Bamford story on the back page of The Northern Echo tomorrow...let the games begin :)

I'm surprised you haven't posted a link yet KM :)

Apparently the NE are saying Boro are ready to make a move next month for Bamford as he will end his loan spell at Palace in January.

I wonder how much we are trying to bring him back... Hopefully we persuade him.

I saw the story last night on Twitter when on of the NE Journo's posted a screenshot of the backk page so there was no link to the article otherwise I would have done so. :)

I think it's fairly obvious we will move for him in January. If he isn't here by January 31st I will be shocked.

If we sign him our attacking options with be amazing for this league..

Bamford, Downing, Nugent & Stuani.

Then there's a decent support cast...

Adomah, Fabbrini & Kike.. De Pen hopefully comes good soon.

Bearing in mind our excellent defence, How much of a failure would it be to not finish in the top 2.. This isn't biased bit no team in the championship comes close to that strength in depth.

I agree. Don't see the championship top 2 race bring as tight as last year. I'm expecting 2 or 3 teams do drift away at the top in the coming weeks and months due to the quality in squads. My guess is ourselves and Derby, and unfortunately Brighton :D

Hull struggle to score without Hernandez & struggle to defend without Dawson... If they both play Hull are very strong.

Not sure I agree... This is the championship and the top teams have real quality in their ranks. The reason they're not premiership is the consistency that they hit their peak performances. But that aside every team in this league has the ability to turnover any other team if it clicks for them in the day. There is no such thing as a guaranteed 3 points/top 2 finish. In my opinion it's a roller coaster ride that I'm just glad we've a ticket for

I would absolutely love to see Bamford back at Boro, but have got a feeling it won't happen for a couple of reasons..

Firstly, the competition to get him. If they terminate his loan, what would stop some of the lower prem teams (Brom, Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle etc) taking a punt on him? I would if I was in their shoes, nothing to lose.

There's also different championship teams that would offer in for him, and may offer a more competitive offer than us.

Then there's whether he would return. I know he liked his time up here, but it still might not be the best option for him. The lads just bought a house in London, and I watched an interview with him where he recently said that he wants to settle in London, and stop getting sent to different ends of the country.

So he might prefer a loan from another London club, QPR, Fulham maybe? That would certainly be easier for him.

I would love for him to return to us, and I just hope that there may be an over-riding desire for unfinished business with Boro, after the playoff final last year.

Here's hoping.

With QPR only having Austin as a recognised Championship striker I wuld be surprised if they weren't in for him should he be available. It would be an easy move for him. All we can hope for is that he decides that this is actually the place that is most beneficial to his career and development. If he feels AK can help develophim as a player I think he is smart enough to choose that path instead of being hellbent on staying in London for the second part of the season, just because he has bought a house. The house will still be there come June.

Middlesbrough, Watford and Newcastle's are interested in Rennes LB Cheick M'Bengué who becomes a free agent in June. (Source: RMC).

Oh I've bloody missed trawling through Twitter for the latest transfer snippets. :P

Do you not have a job KM? :D

Its a massive decision for Bamford if he thinks long term..

Bamford could go back to Chelsea & hope to get in their team but I don't think they will ever give him a chance & will cash in on him eventually.. Just look at Lukaku, Anyone who had watched him play knew he was going to be at the very least a very good player. Everton got a bargain and they knew they we're.

Bamford could try his luck at another premier league club but does he really want to risk throwing a season of football away?.

Bamford could drop back in the championship and take his pick we're to go.. A bit of persuasion from Mr Gibson & AK could bring him back..... I would say to him this is a better squad than last season & if you look at the players you will be playing with you will score plenty of goals & have a great 2nd half of a season.. We fully expect to get promoted with this squad & you will only make us stronger... If you join us & help us get promoted we will make you our No1 permanent summer signing & you will be playing week in week out, Of course that's if you want to rejoin us.

If you we're a natural football what option would you take?.

The more I think about it the more I think we have a great chance of signing him.. Hopefully Mr Gibson & AK are doing everything to persuade him because I think he would make us massive favourite's to win the league never mind top 2.

Just because we're obviously interested, doesn't mean he's going to return. I posted some reasons in an earlier post.

Saying that, I just watched a video of all his goals from last year, and it's rekindled my love of him! Come back Patrick!
