Attempting to get Bamford back is a no-brainer. If we can actually convince him will be the very difficult part. Bamford will surely know that he's our number one target this January and that he'll be a key player for us. Sitting on the bench at Palace this season will have only reinforced what a great season last season was, for him and for us as a club. If we can get him then our striking options would be incredible by Championship standards, even if we loan Kike out as I'd expect. Bamford could have stuck with us this season but he understandably twisted as he wanted to prove himself in the Premier League, which we can't hold against him as at the end of the day he's a young player looking to better himself and served us very well last season. If he returns then it would be a massive boost to our promotion hopes. Hopefully he'll see us as the reliable option in January and will think that if we do go up this season then we'll give him the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.

To consider bringing in anyone in the transfer window is to admit that there's something wrong with the squad as it stands at the moment, and I don't think that's the case. There's also the danger that whenever you introduce someone new to the squad it's going to take some time for them to settle in and other players to get used to their style of play or a new formation. That takes time and we're busy with a promotion push, so we don't really have that time. If it's not broken, don't **** with it.

one bamford isnt a new player we haven't changed are formation or style of play the only thing different is we have better quality to provide for bamford.

and if your happy with Kike as are back up striker then you've seen something that i haven't in a year and a half.

for me its a easy choice no transfer fee and player who we know can score goals at this level

You can never have enough good players, the more quality in the squad the merrier. Why anyone would not love to have Bamford back is beyond me, he was championship POTY remember! Would make us huge championship favourites

There's clearly room for improvement in our squad, especially when there's the possibility of signing a player the quality of Bamford. There will be a minimal settling in period as he was here last season.

Dissagree completely. Its not an admission that there is something wrong. All teams improve whenever they can. Is it an admission that the squad can be improved then yes. But who can say there squad cant be improved

I think the other top teams in the championship will improve their squads in January and we should too...

Derby are already rumoured to be ready to spend quite a bit.

Burnley & Hull have the premier league money to spend & probably will spend some.

Not sure what Brighton will do.

There's an obvious chance to try & sign Bamford in January, We would be incredibly stupid to not try & persuade him to come back... First & foremost he has proven he is brilliant in the championship & he would improve us.. Secondly, Just think if we didn't attempt to sign him or said our squads fine as it is..... Then he goes signs for one of our rivals and he scores bags of goals that helps that team finish just in front of us in 2nd.

If a player of Bamfords quality becomes available, You do not turn down the opportunity of signing him.

Bamford would demand football. Who would he put aside? Nugent? Stuani? It would be those two he would compete with.

We could need a left winger, so we can play Downing in the middle. But if Adomah will be as good a she was last on the left than its ok :)

Nugent can play on the left and cut inside, I'm sure he's done it before.

Stuani - Downing - Nugent

-------- Bamford --------

That could work, turning into a 4-3-3 when attacking with Downing being the playmaker just ahead of Leadboots/Clayton

now we know why adomah has been off the sex change has put her off her game :D

That's how I would line them up.. Nugent has the work rate & pace to play in a wider role but in possession he could come inside & join the attack like Stuani does.. No reason why it couldn't work.. All those could easily interchange throughout the game, Opposition defenders would be BAMboozled :)

Bamford wouldn't need to settle any more than a player out with a medium-term injury. In fact, we have players out of the team (Williams, Damia, Husband) who haven't been involved for a lot longer than Bamford.

Bit of total football up top, with Nuge and Stuani cutting inside and running into the box as you say. Nsue and Friend bombing down the wings in support and whipping in a few crosses.. Got yourself a Championship winning lineup there.
