CFPri25 12
Summer Transfer Window 2016 Summary Last Updated: 31/08/16 @ 23:31 Main Stories of the Moment Articles of the moment: MFC Overview DEADLINE DAY IS OVER! THE TRANSFER WINDOW HAS SHUT! Who saw this coming? Be honest. Purely on the calibre of player that Boro brought in, what an incredible window this has been for the club so far! The late rumours that never came to fruition: The club are rumoured to have tabled a £20m bid for an player; who the player is or if this is even true is anyone's guess. The future of Jordan Rhodes is still very much up in the air. Boro are believed to be willing to let the player go permanently only if a club matches their valuation; Norwich are rumoured to be interested. There have also been a number of loan bids tabled but this doesn't interest Boro. If the player is to leave, who, if anyone, would Boro bring in as a replacement? Nobody knows.Thomas Mejias is being lined up by Getafe as a potential replacement if their current #1, Guaita, completes a move to Sunderland. Other Stories of the window: One transfer that has perhaps been overlooked is that of Juanjo Vila, a world leading expert on video and data analysis in sport. His analysis and input could and should prove invaluable to AK.Contract extensions have very much been the flavour of the window as well with Ayala, Gibson, Friend, Foreshaw and Fry all being given new long term deals of varying length! Transfers In: Viktor Fischer - Ajax - £3.8m (€5m)Bernado Espinosa - Sporting Gijón - End of Contract (Free)Marten de Roon - Atalanta - Rising to £12.75mJordan McGhee - Hearts - Season Long LoanVictor Valdes - Manchester United - End of Contract (Free)Alvaro Negredo - Valencia - Season Long Loan (Rumoured £7m fee)Antonio Barragan - Valencia - £1.5mGastón Ramirez - Southampton/Peñarol - End of Contract (Free)Brad Guzan - Aston Villa - End of Contract (Free)Fabio da Silva - Cardiff - £2mCalum Chambers - ***nal - Season Long LoanAdama Traoré - Aston Villa - Undisclosed (rumoured £5m) Total Spent: £32m Transfers Out: Rhys Williams - Perth Glory - FreeDamia Abella - n/a - FreeJonathan Woodgate - n/a - FreeLuke Coddington - Huddersfield Town - FreeJordan Jones - n/a - FreeAndre Bennett - n/a - FreeConnor Ripley - Oldham Athletic - Season Long LoanPaul Weldon - Darlington - FreeJordan Jones - Kilmarnock - FreeJonathan Burn - Kilmarnock - 6 Month LoanHarry Chapman - Sheffield United - Season Long LoanBradley Fewster - Hartlepool United - 4 Month LoanBradley Halliday - Cambridge United - UndisclosedAdam Jackson - Barnsley - UndisclosedMustapha Carayol - Nottingham Forest - FreeAlbert Adomah - Aston Villa - Undisclosed (rumoured £6-8m)Alex Baptiste - Preston North End - Season Long LoanAdam Reach - Sheffield Wednesday - Undisclosed (rumoured £7m)Dael Fry - Rotherham United - Season Long Loan Total Received: £13-15m Net Spend: £17m (estimated due to undisclosed fees) Strong Transfer Links: Lukas Rupp (signed for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)Aissa Mandi (signed for Real Betis) Dennis Praet (signed for Sampdoria)James Morrison (signed a contract extension at West Brom)Michail Antonio (signed a contract extension with West Ham)Clément Grenier Clement Chantome (signed for Stade Rennais)Hakim ZiyechDomagoj Vida Tim KrulKhouma BabacarThomas Meunier (signed for PSG)Neven Subotic (deal fell through after failed medical)Harry MaguireEnzo FernándezGerard Deulofeu More Tenuous Player Transfer Links: Fernando Llorente (signed for Swansea) Tomas Kalas (signed for Fulham) Laurent DepoitreJefferson MonteroAlvaro Arbeloa (signed for West Ham) Denis CheryshevRachid GhezzalFilip DjordjevicKenneth VermeerJon WaltersCheick TioteHenri BedimoRachid GhezzalGökhan GönülKeiren WestwoodPepe ReinaMartin Skrtel (signed for Fenerbahçe) Cameron JeromeSergi SamperRyan BennettCristi SăpunaruMike van der Hoorn (signed for Swansea)Blerim DžemailiLee CattermoleMatt Philips (signed for West Brom)Chris GunterRamadel FalcaoMatz Sels (signed for Newcastle)Vincent AboubakarMartin CaceresNicolai JorgensenSantiago AriasTomáš NecidJeff Hendrick (signed for Burnley)Robin Van PersieDemarai GreyFilip HelanderYakou Meite (signed for Reading)Andre AyewWesley Hoedt Players Rumoured to be leaving? Will 2,958
Well, having just seen our first proper transfer link I thought I'd start this up. Middlesbrough are watching Gent-striker Laurent Depoitre. His contract runs out in 2017, but no offers as yet. #boro
"KM" 1,656
You've broke my heart. This was meant to me my thread. :(
typicalbrough 17
Oh this seems premature as so much will depend on the next few weeks both on and off the field. That said boro fans might want to load football manager and have a butchers at Braga.
OldManGravz 1,311
Haha I saw this and my first thought was "KM is gonna be ***ed!"
Tom 2,492
I thought better of you, Will.
Boro_Gadgey 12
Haha I saw this and my first thought was "KM is gonna be ***!" Yep same here. I think the moderators have a moral duty to delete this thread ;)
"KM" 1,656
Haha I saw this and my first thought was "KM is gonna be ***!" Fuming. I'm genuinely gutted. *spits dummy out* :D
wilsoncgp 9,230
Tut tut, Will. What have you done!? :D Agree this is slightly premature though I think there's argument that this time there is only a List A and not a List B this time round for players for next season. Aitor may not be able to have a List B next year. List B may well consist of potential new managers.
Downsouth 6,175
Moral duty to delete this thread? If I do there will be moans and groans If I don't there will moans and groans. But on purely a personal level this is far too early for this type of thread and tbh not even worth thinking about until we know where we will be until all is finalised. I could simply lock it or hope that Will might just simply delete it himself. I also realise that KM will be desperate to start this type of thread but guys really this early? Any one with a good suggestion about this please say so or those in favour of locking this for at least a while please indicate
CurtisFleming 86
Come on, let's wait until the season is over
OldManGravz 1,311
It's a rumours thread though, if rumours are starting to circulate then why not have a thread to discuss them?
BillyWoofs_shinpad 1,884
Surely anyone can start a thread about anything they want, isn't that the whole point of a forum? Leave it be, personally I hate the transfer threads, but I recognise the poster's right to start one.
trekkers 104
Too early , chop Wills keyboard fingers off!!!!!
Middlesborough 12
I don't think it's too early, the season ends next week and besides we're already being linked with players. Plus it'd be interesting to discuss who we might target depending on whether if we'll be playing Premier League football or not next season.
