Thought you might have heard something as you had some info last week on Praet I think. Things are very quite atm, but then again it's still only May and the Euros and Copa America are coming up. I'm so freaking annoyed at Denmark failing to qualify. Lousy no-good'ers.

You could really do with Yugoslavia uniting and going to war right now :)

Gazette are reporting that Boro have enquired about Mandi but no bid has been made. I'd say something is happening since the Gazette are reporting it. They say themselves that Boro have made plenty of enquiries about various targets, so why single out Mandi.

from the Echo this morning

MIDDLESBROUGH are considering moves for out-of-contract duo Bernardo Espinosa and Clement Chantome as they look to continue their summer recruitment drive.

Espinosa, a Colombian centre-half, is available on a free transfer after leaving Spanish side Sporting Gijon at the end of last season.

With Boro unlikely to re-sign Tomas Kalas, who has returned to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell, Aitor Karanka is hoping to sign at least one centre-half to provide some competition to his established first-choice pairing of Daniel Ayala and Ben Gibson.

Espinosa, who is recovering from a knee injury that will keep him out until August, has been offered a deal at Bournemouth, with Watford also understood to have held discussions with his representatives.

However, Boro officials are aware of his availability and are set to hold talks of their own as they look to make further transfer progress following last week’s successful capture of Danish winger Viktor Fischer.

The Teessiders have also been monitoring Chantome’s situation, with the midfielder set to leave French side Bordeaux as a free agent this summer.

Chantome, who has also been linked with Sunderland and West Brom, has turned down the offer of a new deal with Bordeaux, and his representatives have contacted a number of English clubs to assess their interest.

I have a feeling that Dimi would be shown up in the prem. He's been thoroughly protected in the championship, he wouldn't get the same level of protection in the top league. New keeper needed for me.

Alleged FoxSports correspondent on twitter (only 77 followers) saying Jack Grelish on his way to Boro

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah.

No.

Almost as funny as this: Arjen Robben seeks a move abroad, having lost his place in the Bayern side to Brazilian thundercock Douglas Costa, #BORO are ready to pounce

It's from a man called Richard Marrow with a profile "A writer for @FreshPressUK. Love football and most sports. Specialist in transfer news. Agent of many Premiership players. PhD in journalism."

Why would a man like that make up something like that rumour and most likely look like a complete tosser. Imagine trying to act professional yet use "thundercock" as a description of a player. It has to be a spoof account.

Of course we need a new keeper. We can't go into the season with a 37 year old who does make a few errors and who doesn't have any top flight experience. That would be too risky. He may well deserve it and credit to him for making the number 1 spot his in recent seasons but in the Prem it's way too risky. I'd much rather have him as backup.

Yeah I completely agree. I saw we were linked with Kieran Westwood yesterday, was surprised at the amount of people that weren't keen, I think he would be a top signing. Wouldn't pay the reported £6m mind...
