why so many long balls? hit and hopes, not even under pressure

 

It's a tactic AKs employed especially in away matches ever since he came in, I think the theory is it gets the team up the pitch, puts immediate pressure on their defence and if the striker gets ahold of it the counters on.

 

It's not pretty but it's the way AK tells his CBs in particular to play away from home.

remember one of our games at Brentford where Gibson must have played 20 of them, similar to today most of them found no-one, seems needless at the moment when at times when we're not even being pressed.
