Oh, what fun we had in the Transfers thread.

This is a football forum and since when did being a football fan have anything to do with being rational? Surely, this is a place to be as daft as you like without ever being held to account for it.

No he was basically goading everyone in the thread. He says stuff like that because he knows it winds people up.

It's not even the stuff he says that riles me, it's his attitude he's got. All this "we won't" "not interested" "i know what I'm talking about despite the fact I'm talking out my ***" BS.

I won't stop calling him out on that either.

Well I was on the thread and I didn't feel goaded by it.  I think you might find a lot of people didn't feel goaded by it and thus didn't feel the need to respond to him like that.  You might have felt goaded by it but then you already dislike the guy so maybe that's part of it? Like I said earlier his post was a bit silly but you just pick the post apart in that case, it's not like it would be difficult to do.  There's no need to have a go at him about it unless you are making it personal.

I didn't think either way about NB. I didn't care whether he was here or not. He said some stupid things previously but usually his attitude was fine.

Since he's come back his attitude has ***ing stunk. He's been rude, impolite, hostile & is making posts that mock the ideas of rumours essentially. It's pointless and he just wants people to notice he's back.

It's difficult to pick apart a post that has no substance, that none of his do.

Really? I thought this place prided itself on sensible discussion?

I agree we shouldn't derail a thread but somethings need sorting out. I don't comment often but I get so frustrated at times. Why should I have to go and block individuals in a forum when they can say and do what they want. If it was only 1 or 2 people that felt this way then I would understand. But it's obviously more. Just feel one needs to be sorted instead of many

Naughty Boy gets his own rules in this place.

He can goad as many people as he wants, as soon as anyone replies to him mods step in and tell people to stop picking on him

Every single time.

+1 for you when I'm on my computer tonight mate, totally true.

He didn't goad anyone though to be fair. He gets a lot of grief and he has gotten a lot since he came back for posts that if they'd been by other people wouldn't have gotten any at all in my opinion. His post was silly but that's about it but not every post he makes is silly though. I'd sooner have one silly post from him than all of the people posting about how much they dislike him and his posts so if you really don't like him or what he posts then just block him, it's not like you lose out is it?

I do pretty much agree with this. Sometimes he does get more grief than others for what he says.

But the comment he made about Falcao is very clearly having a go, making people who are having a genuine conversation about whether or not it is possible sound like idiots. He's added nothing to the discussion and is clearly looking for a reaction. Is that just alright for NB to do? Is that any different to others goading him?

Of course, you can just block him, that's what the function is there for.

They're whatever suits their mood at the time mate.

At the minute they have to protect NB's right to talk *** constantly, so suddenly we're a forum where we can be "daft as you like".

I was just about to reply to CT, but you've said exactly what I would've.

Ah, well that's where you're wrong. All sensible discussion and no silly buggery would make for a very dull place indeed. Lighten up, man.

Why was my silly buggery deleted in the transfer thread then? You don't like it when it's aimed at you?

Some of his posts do have substance though, you just don't like them but quite simply it's easier to pick apart posts that don't have substance than those that do.

Re your question about posts, if the search facility on here worked better I could find some but there was one over the last week or so that he got stick for when really he hadn't said anything wrong. Just gave an opinion and had a number of people on his case about it.  There were others I'd seen before that but I'm buggered if I can remember them mate, I just remember thinking people were being harsh because it was him.

I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't deleted anything for ages. I have had a look in "Transfers" and I don't see any of your posts as deleted. (Yes, mods can still see posts that members delete and we can and do make them permanent after a time.)

I just struggle to believe it, honestly. His posts recently have all been opinions disguised as "I know better than you, you're all idiots" facts.

If he put forward opinions as opinions there'd be no issue & that's my biggest problem.

He has a terrible attitude & if you can genuinely sit there and seriously say his attitude is fine then...well. I'm staggered.

Well I didn't feel goaded and I was in the conversation so I disagree but I did also say it was silly and that he should chill out.  I think lately he has posted things because of the comments he is getting from people and you then get a vicious circle I suppose.  I do find it interesting that the same people that always respond to him are the same ones that also feel goaded so maybe that's as much about them as it is about him?  I think if you post a reasonable comment and get grief for it you may feel more inclined to post with an attitude because you know you're going to get it anyway so what the hell?  But I read his post on Falcao and then I made my own post stating why I didn't think it was ridiculous, why can't other people manage that?

One more point - He was banned for 3 months, came back and multiple people have since had more problems with him and yet WE'RE seen as the problem?

Yeah, that doesn't seem right to me. When I've moderated forums in the past I've found punishing the trouble causers works better than giving them immunity.
