January 2017 Transfer Window

Recommended Posts

does feel as if we're trimming the fat ready for a cost reduction exercise, can't believe Gibbo has given up, just not his way, so WTF is going on!

Maybe the Chinese consortium have come back with an improved offer for the club....??

So Karanka has:

1. come out saying ramirez is 100% staying so that when/if he does leave it looks like its the club doing the sacking and not karanka

2. Come out stating the clubs let him down by not signing the players required

3. Come out against the crowd stating we're not behind the team recently and the atmosphere was aweful, even though most at the game disagree with this.

4. Said the crowd were shouting for long balls when we dont play long balls EVER, even though we're the 2nd highest in the hoof it up leagues.

maybe the synical way of looking at this, but its all seems to be posturing to either leave boro now or at the end of the season with a personal PR campaign to distance himself from the blame.

Has he secretly been given a points total for the next few games? massive conjecture, but seems abnormal actions from AK.

Or is Karanka thinking that if he walks he can claim for constructive dismissal?

To add to my earlier post, i think this transfer window can be summed up by one of my favourite Gordon Ramsay lines: "it's grim. It's f****ng grim. And on the verge of being embarrasing."

Before the transfer window opened everyone was pretty happy. We've replaced Nugent and potentially Rhodes with players that Karanka might play so we are 2 players better off! Some proper overreactions going on

Wait we sold our highest rated youngster?

That's indefensible, why scout young players to put in our academy to let them develop then 18 months later let them go for 1 million euros.

Guediora (no idea how to spell this) just linked on SSN

Was it LinoJo who used to bang on about this player all the time in the transfer window last year? Seems you might get your wish after all! (Apologies if it wasn't you).

We made 800/900k on him and I doubt he would of got anywhere near the first team in the next season or 2.

Maybe he hasn't progressed as much as they thought? Especially with his recent injuries. He might have pushed for the move? Making space for the Finnish striker (not Swedish Snowblind)? I don't really know but there can be any number of reasons why it made sense.

I personally don't really have an opinion as I've never seen him play. Scoring goals for the reserves can indicate potential but then other players who did have gone on to play in leagues lower than we do. Big difference in quality between first-team football and reserve matches as demonstrated by how our U23 team did in the Checkatrade Trophy.
