Looks like we're missing out on Snodgrass.

BREAKING NEWS

Robert Snodgrass will meet West Ham tomorrow to discuss personal terms and have a medical.

Snodgrass has chosen West Ham over Burnley after both clubs had £10m bids accepted by Hull.

He probably would have came to us if we had a few more points on the board.

We are too close to Hull in the table for them to accept our offer, would have been insanity on their part!

snoddy or jese it was. now we are getting jese no need to peruse snoddy. west ham knew so took full advantage as we were his preffered move

Think we'll still end up with 2 attacking midfielders. Jesé and one other. Any alternative suggestions if Bojan does not materialise? That one seems to have gone quiet.

We could still be in for this wolves player for all we know.

If snodgrass was as keen to come as lurker says then I have to wonder how much we actually wanted him anyway. I think bojan and Jesé have always been the top targets.

Wonder if we might go back in for Enzo Zidane.

Don't see us signing any projects this window.

Lets be honest you couldn't blame a 30 year old Snodgrass chosing West Ham over us or Burnley for that matte,r guaranteed PL next season or go from a relegation battle club to a relegation battle club, sensible option is West Ham..

What happened to the bloke who started the season last year with Swansea like a house on fire. Think it was montero. Also what about the ayew guy that played for them too. Are they still there?

Also, if snodgrass does go to west ham, that would free up the money we were expected to spend on him so could the bojan deal become a permanent which would potentially push it over the line. I get that he would prefer a loan but it would be beneficial to him potentially as we could give him a pay rise

Montero is still there. Clement will use him, I think. Ayew is at West Ham now, just back from injury.

Our bid wasn't accepted by all accounts. Therefore I don't think it even got to the stage of him having us as an option

I've been watching Jese's Youtube clips and it seems that a lot of his goals and assists have come from the left wing cutting infield so looks like he can be effective at LW. That would make him a far more preferable option to someone like Snodgrass who's best at RW - an area that we already have plenty of options. I think it's a fair assumption to make that Karanka wants Jese far more than Snodgrass so if we get Jese then missing out on Snodgrass won't be that much of a blow.

    • Two scoring draws last term between the teams and always a close call before that. Forest you would expect to shrug off their poorish start and to progress, but they will also be desperate to start winning. However I would suspect Houghton will be content with a point at the Riverside but for Boro we need to start winning back to back games and I believe we will be too much for Forest and achieve a rare event of late. Maybe travelling teams will be showing a bit more respect towards us as a whole but I do think the game will be very different than seen against Coventry. Going for a home win though at start of season would have been ok with a draw
    • Forest have so many attacking options, IF we win this it'll set a great marker for where we are heading.
    • I can see Spence dropping to the bench and one of bola or Johnson stepping in, with tav on the right. I assume that was the purpose of the subs the other night. roberts back to the bench as well perhaps.... if no akpom, I’m comfortable with Browne starting, he has done everything asked of him so far. Midfield and defence picks itself, barring injury
    • So I've seen lots of highlights recently where both penalties and red cards were given, I thought they'd moved away from red cards if it was a penalty, or is it still a red card for being last man?
    • Hopefully Akpom is fit and if he is I would go to a 3.5.2. I would also bring Coulson in. I want him to succeed here and NW said he looked bright in training. Betti Dijk Fry Paddy Tav Howson Morsy Sav Coulson Britt Akpom I would love a win but i rate forest. Would not be too disappointed with a draw.
