Essuuaitch 330 Posted May 12, 2017 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Not sure if anyone has posted this, but just came across this on "The Boro Banter Page" on Facebook... make of it what you will: We always get rumours sent to us here but we have just heard off a very good source some interesting rumours which we would like to share with you. ⁃ The real reason GK Coach Leo wasn't around for part of this season was because he'd had a fallout with karanka who banned him from the training ground and stadium as he didn't want him talking to the players. When Leo returned against Manchester united, which was boro's first game since Karanka left, he recieved a call from Karanka who went crazy with him for returning without his permission. ⁃ GK Coach Eric Steele, who stood in for Leo, left the club not because he was injured (reportedly) but because he was sick of the way karanka spoke to him. ⁃ Karanka was the one who stopped the half time pens been taken at the riverside. ⁃ When Steve Gibson built Rockcliffe his intentions were to have premier league clubs stay and use training facilities to bring extra money into the club. Karanka stopped all that because he demanded that all playing squad would stay there before home games. Something that the players and their families were not happy about. ⁃ The Club wanted to sell Gaston in January and would have brought new players which karanka wanted but karanka ordered that Gaston not be sold or he would leave. Karanka was then unhappy with the board for not getting him the players he wanted. ⁃ When karanka came to Boro he insisted he was Head Coach and not Manager. This is one of the reasons why Karanka didn't do any unveiling press conferences with new players as he said it had nothing to do with him. ⁃ It is believed that Karanka was very much liked by a number of Boro players, but these same players say it has been such a tense atmosphere at the club with karanka there. ⁃ When Craig Hignett was here as assistant, Karanka would talk to the other Coaches, most of the time, in Spanish. Hignett decided to learn Spanish without karanka knowing so he could understand. ⁃ GK Leo was the one who pushed through the transfer of Carlos De Pena. It's thought that the recruitment team were not happy but it was pushed through. It's believed Leo has the same agent and recieved a cut for helping get the deal done. ⁃ Grant Leadbitter recently floored Gaston with one punch. (don't know much on this story but found it quite hilarious). As always it's entirely up to you if you believe these or not. I think a lot of these of some basis but then just go to far fetched. For example I'm pretty sure karanka and Leo did fall out, but karanka telling him off after he'd left? Load of schite. Same as the de Pena one, Leo did recommend him as a signing, not quite sure how a gk coach could 'force through' a transfer though? When they both found out it became really romantic and continually disappeared during training sessions and had to be found in the broom closet.
