marvin 290 Posted May 16, 2017 Author Share Posted May 16, 2017 ***NEWS UPDATE*** Warmest of congratulations to cyprusboro who did indeed clinch the Premier League Title in the last round. The Championship is still up for sorting, looking likely to go to with Tom or Nomad. As for next season, I really don't know. I have informed the powers that be that I won't be continuing to administer the league next season. As a result, I won't be posting any playoffs for the Championship, or be able to give any indication of ups and downs. I would suggest for next season going back to an older format where everyone is predicting for themselves with a distinct lack of head to head competition- which seems to be the cause of the biggest headaches for people anyway. Not sure that the excitement it adds is worth the hardcore "no-shows" spoiling things. Thanks for continuing to take part and I'll look forward to seeing you all in next season in whatever format the league takes by whoever decided to take up the PL mantle. Marvin. I would have thought the simpliest way to sort out no shows is that when a member joins the prediction competition he or she also posts 10 results. These can be put on a sticky with the fixtures and if ever the member miss's a game these 10 predictions can be used. All this appeasing people and chopping and changing rules is rather silly. If you miss the deadline for the first game then your 10 predictions are used. I saw earlier in the season that someone missed a Friday night game or a early Saturday k/o but still was allowed to predict the rest of the games. That to me just creates more work for the fella running the competition. Just use the substitute 10 games that were posted on the sticky at the begining of the season.
