We will either get the brow beaten ***nal in which case we can put on traore second half and go at them or we will get a wounded full flying ***nal in which case starting traore could have us 3 down by half time

Agnew can do one. Barragan again? Leadbitter? Downing? Traore on the bench! 4-0 to ***nal.

Aren't ***nal playing 3 CM's? Need to also pack the midfield as they'll just boss us and control the game easier hence the inclusion of Leadbitter I think.

Would have had Traore in mind for a bit of pace on the counter...

What's Leadbitter gonna do?

Take forever on the ball before turning round and passing back, get booking early and then be even more useless for the res of the game.

On the bright side, with that team, it should be all over by half time and I can watch Broadchurch at nine without having to record it. Seriously, has Agnes lost the plot, does he not realize why Karanka got the sack?

I love the eternal optimism of the football supporter, but I think we need a reality check at times. We have won four games all season, we cannot score a goal to save our lives, we have a rookTie coach who does not know what formation to play, a bunch of players who do not understand the word 'team' and are mostly looking at next years wage deal. On the basis of that we are going to beat a top six team, win at Bournemouth, (not exactly a happy hunting ground for us is it), and climb out of the relegation zone. I think the definition of deluded is something like 'believing things that are not real to be factual and true', that sounds about right, sorry but reality often hurts.

Mate i think everyone knows by now (unless they been on a space mission and just came back or been sat in the bottom of the pond since Christmas or just came out of hibernation or something similar) we have been awful and the reality is unless a miracle happens we are not staying up but having said that to make that miracle happen i think the manager, players and supporters have got to rally together and start believing we can do it.

Thomas, you are doing it again I am afraid, accept the inevitable and move on, let it go and you will feel better.

Yeah you are right with that starting line up i actually do give in.

    • I say this with respect to you. If you had looked at the full picture and not just focused on that comment alone then I honestly don't think it was worth mentioning. And you would agree. The number of non-white players he has signed during his 12 months here, the high praise of our two black full backs and fact he has said Dijksteel like a son to him who he invites to his house for food etc. This is before we even get on to fact Bolasie and NML they primart reason for signing for us is Warnock. Former said NW probs managed him through best part of his career and he loved playing for him. So no i don't think it was worth mentioning if all had been considered.
    • Unfortunately I think you're right. The German FA wrote that into their rules back in 1998 - probably before big business had a chance to dig its claws into their game. The Premier League would have only been around 6 years at that time...maybe the FA could have done something similar back them. But I think we're too far gone now. As you say, too many foreign investors with too much to lose, for us to change now.
    • What currently exists is an imbalance, it's an imperfect system that is weighted in favour of clubs with more wealth who are more willing and able to capitalise and increase that wealth. But the system is still there, the possibility is still there for someone to challenge that, even if it requires investment to do so. 10 years ago, Leicester were in the same position we were, mid-table mediocrity in the Championship. Where are they now? I'm not saying we will end up there by any means but someone in our position could in 10 years be doing what Leicester are doing now with the right investment. If the system stays the same. Is that not relative success? And is relative success not meaningful? If so, why do we even have a 2nd division or below? Why do Hartlepool United even exist? Further to challenge that, why are you still a Boro fan if you ask what's the point of us even existing? I find that aspect absolutely baffling, to be honest. What's being proposed isn't just a further imbalance, it is something that takes our sport and says teams with the largest brand recognition are undoubtedly the elite in our continent. It takes what sporting integrity is left at the top of the game and rips it to shreds. They'll say right now they want to be part of our domestic league but they don't value it, they don't value its history, its legacy. They don't want to evolve our game, they want a revolution that favours just them as they see themselves as the only meaningful members of their respective leagues. And this isn't just about how that affects the integrity of sport, about aspirations and dreams from players, managers and fans to achieve, however much those are simply dreams a lot of the time. The Aston Villa chief exec has just come out and made it quite clear what else this means; it means that they don't need to worry about hiring a bad manager or making bad decisions on signing players because they have certainty in a huge portion of their income. Now, you can say they don't need to worry about that either but the league table this season for the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs might not deliver them what they feel they need to achieve with the system as it stands. Take a look at our own club, our own failure to achieve our goals and where do we point the finger? We certainly don't blame the league or the pandemic, we blame ourselves, we can be better. That, for these clubs, is not the problem. Just as a final point around dominance, the Prem has been around for 30 years this year, right? In that time United have dominated that the most with 13 titles with Chelsea and what is sure to be City joint 2nd place on 5 titles, in total there has been 7 different winners. In the 30 years prior to that, there were only 8 different winners, Liverpool dominated that time with 13 titles, Everton 2nd in line with 4 titles. The names have changed since the Premier League began but the distribution hasn't changed an awful lot at all.
    • It would be great. Not 100% sure how it works in Germany, but you would think it would solve a lot of problems we've had in the UK recently with owners sucking their clubs dry and being able to bypass the fit and proper tests with ease.
    • I'm also really unsure that THIS Government are that bothered by the national interest. Unless of course it helps line their own pockets, or their Sisters, or Mothers or brother-in-laws. But that is another debate entirely. Unfortunately I feel there would need to be mass protest at every level; FIFA/UEFA, Managers/Coaches, players, broadcasters, other clubs and fans for this to be headed off.
