Summer Transfer Thread, (Closes 8pm tonight)

Redknapp again doing what he can to laod up the wagebudget. Stockdale on 50k, Jota on 30k and now Wishire who isn't going to be cheap. But who cares, Redknapp will be gone before the *** hits the fan.

Redknapp absolutely loves it. Proper wheeler dealer, kind of have to respect it a bit

I'm not a great fan of Redknapp but imagine the team he'd of put together with us for the money that Monk has spent.

I cannot stand the man and he would have filled the team with past-their-best players on huge contracts.  It won't be pretty when they don't go up and even worse if they go down.

Jack Colback has been informed he will be sent to train with the academy players if he does not agree a move away from St James’. Unwanted by Benitez the midfielder saw a loan move to Wolves break down last night. Colback wants to stay in the north east and has been offered to Sunderland, his old club and Middlesbrough. Sunderland have said they do not want him, Middlesbrough appear lukewarm. Hull would like him on loan but Colback would prefer to stay closer to home.

This is just going to be full of opinions and moaning rather than actual news and rumours today.

It's not a competition. You don't get prizes for best signings on deadline day. We've had a better window than them.

Wrong.

Only signings on deadline day count

Redknapp had the resources Middlesbrough have now when he was at QPR, can anybody tell me how that worked out?

Anyone who thinks a broken shell of a Jack Wilshere and an ageing Alex Song wins the Championship is putting too much stock in "big names".

Shows you what a lie Harry was spinning about not being able to afford Downing's wages but he can put a package together to try and get Wilshere on loan.

    • Yeah, I did, it was the same way as normal really, except with more active stewarding and staggered entry and exits. Hand sanitiser stations were situated by the turnstiles and you were instructed to use them before being allowed through. Worked absolutely fine. Only thing I think might prove an issue is they were only allowing 3 people in the toilets at once, and that's surely not really sustainable at higher attendances. I do think that it's the right idea for them not to open the bars until the restrictions are fully lifted though, despite some fans in Tier 2 areas kicking off, it'd be bound to create unnecessary congestion and hassle.
    • Did you go to the Bournemouth game? If you did how did the club organise getting fans in and out of the stadium?
    • Hmm...maybe I should've used some emojis to make it obvious I was exaggerating. Still your explanation was interesting. 👍 Even so, you'd expect a professional footballer to put those kind of chances away, more often than not. Don't they practice this kind of stuff in training? And as for pushing & shoving, Britt is a big unit - I wouldn't have thought it was that easy to knock him off the ball (although the way he often goes down like Bambi on ice suggests otherwise).
