The Write Up

Well, after that international break I'm actually happy to get back to watching the Boro!

Last game out Boro came from behind twice to draw 2 apiece with Brentford at the Riverside. Braithwaite and Fabio netting a goal each to cancel out Barbet and Watkins respectively.

It's been an interesting season overall for Boro so far in that I don't quite know how to categorise it! On the one hand we're still within touching distance of the top with Braithwaite just coming back into the fold after a decent layoff, on the other we're still short of where a lot of us were expecting us to be. It's only October though and if we can put together a bit of form we should be able to work our way up the table.

Barnsley are 18th, sitting five points behind us having played a game less.

They've scored the same amount of goals as us (13) but have conceded 15 to our 9.

Barnsley beat Millwall 3-1 away in their last game, with Tom Bradshaw (whom a few on here were discussing during one of the recent transfer threads) netting a brace and Thiam sealing the three points 15 mins from time.

The Line Up

Lot of discussion on this so far. Personally I'd go for:

I'm still not sure Monk knows his best team nor formation yet though so it'll be interesting to see who he picks.

I'm looking forward to it but it's also with a lot of anxiety. If we don't show significant progress after this break and with a fully fit squad then I will start to worry. We need to kick on now and not any more of these first half no shows.

3-1 to the Mighty Boro!

I'll be fascinated which Boro turns up.

that'll mean it could be an easy 3-0 win aka the afternoon that McDonald, Robson and Emnes scored before half time

OR

The Mogga sacking weekend when we 3-0 down at half time and Albert spared our blushes to some extent with a second half brace

And no doubt Jacko 'll have a blinder and no doubt score from a corner

winning goal or a consolation ??

we'll see on Saturday

Really worried that Shotton will play and Bamford won't start. I think it should be

Randolph

Fabio

Gibson

Fry

Christie

Howson

Clayton

Braithwaite

Asombalonga

Bamford

If so 3-1 to Boro

Don't want Shotton, Baker, Downing in the team. Won't complain if Traore is.

I think the same although I have a feeling friend and Traore may start but would be happy with either line up

We definitely will get beaten with that team. There's only 10 players in it

I don't know - I thought it was tactical genius - especially if they chose to man mark Baker, definitely more confusing for the opposition than watching our back four pass to each other for the first 20 mind.

*** it. One going out on a limb and saying everything will click and we'll win 5-0.

I'll go even further out on a limb and say we'll play crap, it'll be a boring 0-0 up until they score in the 75' and then we get a scrappy goal in 87' and monk lauds his team for their courage and determination in coming from behind, again, again, again.

Sounds unlikely I know but just putting it out there......
