Boro v Reading (a) 2-0 (Leadbitter (pen) Assombalonga)

Recommended Posts

Good first half, would love it if we shut them out and kept this result. Assombalonga sounds like he's been a nuisance, ideal trait for a no 9.

Much more involved today than he has been recently. Him and Braithwaite keeping the pressure on their back 4 and it's a good job because that's where the ball has spent a lot of time whilst in their possession.

Reading can barely get out of their half and we've made sure that's the case often enough. All it takes is one chance at this scoreline though and it could be 1-1. A second goal is a must.

To add to this Assombalonga is basically the entire reason McShane is throwing a paddy any time the ball comes towards him, he just can't handle him at all.

McShane won a foul at the end of the half there and celebrated like a goal had gone in with a roar and a full arm fist pump.

Think it says a lot that the majority of the ball that I remember Aluko getting was in the centre circle.

2nd half could be a different story. Hopefully we start the second half well and get a hold on the game again.
