Changing Times 15,937 23k
And, of course, the reality is that the truth is somewhere between the stats and what we see on the pitch. Stats can be great, but anyone who watched ***nal Man City the other night could see how the stats did not give anywhere near an accurate reflection of the gulf in quality of the two sides in the game. The stats (results) tend to show quite a lot in fairness, certainly more than one game, which you are using as an example to show progress. We were poor last weekend against a bad side, we were good yesterday against an average at best side who played poorly. Neither game on it's own shows anything at all other than what happened on that particular day.

Rioch's Braves 746 3.5k
Excellent result last night, but lets be honest after the Sunderland game, to a lot of fans Pulis was ***e, and the little debate of would you sack Pulis now was doing the rounds, now all of a sudden his the dogs ***. CT summed it up nicely, poor against a bad side, good against an average at best side, one swallow does not a summer make.
tylergomez 53 5.4k
Isn't always being optimistic an extreme position? History shows that's certainly an incorrect one much of the time. My use of ‘extremes’ implied more than one extreme, ie different extremes. Does that make sense?

ladyspite 725 5.6k
we taken 7 points in 3 games and scored 9 goals. When did do that another time this season?
Betamaxman 14 2.6k
I know he scored his second goal... so some will say he was right to shoot, but I think PB should have squared it back to Adama. There were a couple of other times when he shot but should have squared it. He had a great game, clearly... though.

He was right to shoot, he was through on goal, it was on his stronger foot and he's a striker. He should have done better later in the game when Traore went on a run and played it to him but the instance for his second goal he did the right thing. I just think you'll score more often when the ball is squared in that situation. (Except when your striker smashes past a dodgy keeper)! I thought the angle wasn't REALLY there... but I guess you can't really argue with your striker booting it in to the back of the net.

There were a couple of other times when he shot but should have squared it. He had a great game, clearly... though. Commentator said something that I pretty much agreed with. If he doesn't score, Traore probably goes mad and quite justifiable from his point of view, if the ball comes back across to him, he has a wide open goal to finish into. If Paddy doesn't score and we don't go 2-0 up before half-time, the game could have played out differently, who knows. But as he also said, Paddy did what all good strikers do when in on goal on their strong foot. He absolutely walloped his shot low across goal which, despite the keeper needing to do better, does make it very difficult for them. I think he had every right to have a go and thankfully it paid dividends.

Yeah I agree, especially the touch he took actually took him slightly away from goal, which made the angle for the pass far too difficult IMO, shooting was the right decision. Also agree he needed to pass it in the later chance, but I'll take a selfish striker that's scoring goals I suppose.
smogsterking the Inspirati 3,351 8.6k
We need to play all our games on a Friday night. I can only think of Birmingham a couple of seasons ago where we dropped points. Great all round performance and glad to see Bamford proving when put in his rightful position he is a very good striker.
