Boro v Brentford (A) 1-1 (Traore)

Recommended Posts

Ayala a major doubt hasn't trained all week

Not ideal... was there an update on Besic? As he was touch and go for the last game.

Besic and Bamford have both trained and are fine

That's a relief! Fry is a safe pair of hands, straight swap for Ayala in my opinion.

Shame we will miss Ayala's attacking threat though, Brentford concede from a lot of set pieces.

This is probably a better game for Ayala to miss as Brentford don't play with a big physical striker that both Gibson and Fry struggle with.

His impact in the other box when attacking set pieces and throw ins will be the biggest loss.

i'd move shotton to cb and play cranie. need experience on the pitch this time of season. one mistake could cost the game. plus shotton is likely still the type of cb to bully their little guys. they'll deffo get more joy out of fry. cranie right back is a safer bet imo. and knows pulis i bet thats what happens.

Why not put Cranie at CB? He is used to play there ;)

So did Shotton though so not much of an argument there.

Well, Shotton is scooled to cover for Adama, as some of us read in an interview shared here today... So I think for sure Shotton stays on the RB.. Be it Fry og be it Cranie to replace Ayala... IF he is not playable.... We'll see

Literally anyone could play RB for Adama if the role is to "don't go past him" it's not rocket science

I mean going by what Shotton said the other day, it's not as simple as that and it's not just "don't go past him".

Yeah, it's also the covering for him, coaching him on the far side of the pitch, knowing his game well enough to know when to push on. It is a role in itself.

So he also has to tell Traore when to come back and cover, you think that's a job that specifically requires Shotton out there to do? Come off it man, you could stick Cranie in at RB and I'd put money on him doing an equally good job because it's not that ***ing difficult.

amazing isnt it. soooo simple, stick an experienced pro behind him to keep him right, manager playing his every week. now adama is full of confidence and our best player.

monk made to look more utterly inept every week. total fraud.
