Boro v Brentford (A) 1-1 (Traore)

Happy with the point. Sounds like we didn't have a great deal of the game from listening to it so only conceding the one goal was pretty good in the end. Makes Brentford's late push look done and dusted when you look at the table. Just every bugger else we have to worry about now. Millwall and Preston look to be making big late pushes and the early challengers Bristol City and Sheffield United remain within touching distance.

Brentford looked like they were playing with an extra man at times, there was always someone free. They passed around quickly, a lot of 1 touch stuff, within two to three passes they were off down the sideline.

They played very, very well.

I will say though that it was one of those games where every bounce went their way. Balls would take weird bounces and land right back at a Brentford foot, deflections would somehow bounce back out to a Brentford player, the wind would carry the ball perfectly for a Brentford player to control. It was thoroughly bizarre.

Glad we came away with a point and stayed top 6 then, if that is the case!

I agree with that. Even their goal had a lucky bounce back to player after the block. Obviously they were the better team, but Lady Luck did seem to favour them!

Maybe, but at some point winning every second ball comes down to better positioning rather than luck.

Good point today no complaints Brentford better team on the day but im glad we at least hung on for a point. I dont have anything against derby but if they go one nil down tomorrow their fans will turn they'll see it as them bottling it again which it will make it really difficult for them to get anything from the game.

reading through the grapevine bees forum, highlighted a few comments below, also they were pleased at how the dominated our midfield again. ah the midfield our weak spot, well imo it isnt it was the ball not being help up front 1/due to the quick counter tactic(or failed counter attempts over and over 2/we missed rudy to be that focal point upfront.

''One of our best all round performances this season ''

''I think we can be incredibly proud of that performance''

''Well played Brentford. Some really sublime football shame we didn't win''

''excellent performance today.. 2nd half outstanding''

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

they have a few canny players, i think we should be looking at that CB mephen(sp) solid player.

all that taken into account, we went away to a decent team who played their hearts out and come away with a point. i'm pleased with that but it certainly highlights our weaknesses on days like this.

Some crucial saves by both keepers stopped one side from winning and tbh we did not deserve to win and a draw was a fair result.

We stopped doing the right things once we scored allowing Brentford back into the match.

Coldest game I have been to for a long while.

Our fate still in our own hands
