Boro vs. Nottingham Forest 2-0 (Ayala, Downing)

Recommended Posts

We break again, Downing gets tackled it falls to Britt and HE tries to be too fancy and rather than just shooting he tries to lob the GK.

Cranie has already bettered his contribution from Monday as he makes a run and slightly draws a man away from Howson, only for Howson to dummy the pass and not use him.

Think we saved players for the Sheff Utd game by taking them off, well we won but could and should have made it more comfortable for ourselves and we do not like one on ones do we?

Impressed by the referee today as well, letting the game go on without much interruption.

Sheffield United on Tuesday, they're doing terribly at the moment so will probably beat us 1-0...

Good result, Bristol C and Sheff U drop points again. You would have to say Preston are done now. If Boro beat Sheff U then that is probably them gone too.

Forest had a worrying amount of chances though... better teams will punish us sitting back like that. Britt really should have scored at the end, but at least he's getting in the positions.

I know Downing scored, but we are still worryingly unbalanced with Traore being the only pacey outlet. Besic was being rested I think, hence the sub. Onto Tuesday, lets see what happens.

Well my 0-0 bet bomded so no food on the table next week but it’s only money and I am well pleased with the three points. Millwall at home is looking like a decider at the moment

    • Can we add George Savinelli to the title thread please 😉
    • Warnock and his backroom staff are doing excellent work with the defence. Look a lot more organised and compact. It's refreshing to see Howson, Morsy and Saville also drop into the back line and defend and then break when we are in possession. Only thing is that we concede far too many silly free kicks in dangerous areas which will cost us goals over the course of the season. Dijksteel is looking like the player we all expected him too be and more and credit has to go to Warnock and his backroom staff. If he can get improve his heading, then we have some player on our hands.
    • Yes OC it’s amazing the difference a coaching team that knows what it’s doing can make. I think this is building towards a good season
    • I think the coaches we now have can improve all the players at the club... may be a coincidence but the improvement of the U23 and U18 sides may be due a little to a number of them featuring in training sessions with first team and that can only help their progress...  they seem to have the knack of giving confidence to younger players and the team spirit has changed completely because of it
    • Good post. Very hard to disagree with any part of it. Dijksteel and Bola do look like they are starting to blossom. Warnock did say that he thinks Browne will get game time when we opt to play 433 so I look forward to seeing him get his chance too
