Summer Transfer Window 2018.

Recommended Posts

Wouldn’t expect loads done today. Got til the end of the month don’t forget. Clubs will go for loan to buys to get around the early window closing

Pulis was certainly talking as if he viewed this as the real deadline, wanted plenty in before it.

1 or 2 today I think. Not going to get 5 deals over the line are we after the carnage this morning will bring

What carnage will this morning bring?

Just clubs scrambling to get deals done. Chain reaction

I

Cooling off period?

Which is more than Steve Bruce will be having. I bet his face is crimson!

I bet Bruce is gutted... I’m sure there are no Greggs on the M40

FYI: Beaconsfield services (J3) has a Greggs.

Was going to post this last night but didn't in the fear of appearing a little sad. Service.

LOL. Indeed... although I just realised it's J2 isn't it!?

We've been chasing the same players for a while. I'd expect we'd know what the players want and it's just agreeing the price with their club.

Obviously other clubs can come in and agents change demands but we could easily get a few done today. Shame it finishes at 5 though.

I'm hoping:

Kalas (RB/CB)

Knudsen (LB)

Adomah/Bolasie (RW)

Besic (CM)

Though I'd sacrifice at least 2 of those to keep Baethwaite.

Do you not find it annoying that he seems twice the player now he’s playing for a move? Never seen him dictate things like he did on Tuesday.

No because he's playing some great stuff in a Boro shirt. He's not some journeyman, mercenary player, and judging by his social media he appreciates the Boro fans - so I'm not convinced this form is simply him playing for a move, and I think we'd see more of the same if we kept him throughout the season.

The reality is that Braithwaite is too good for this level. It was a stroke of luck that we even managed to get him in the first place. There's not a single name from the linked wingers list who I'd rate higher than Martin. I've said numerous times that I was a fan of his before he came here, and his attitude has always been spot on throughout his career. You can understand why he felt the need to leave last season with Pulis compromising his strengths in his role and with a very competitive space in the Denmark World Cup squad up for grabs, but I believe - given his character - he'll excel here if he stays this season.

It's going to be especially tough if the clubs we want to deal with are in the Prem and not done with their own business. Loan-to-buy deals almost certainly discussed. Just 8 and a half hours to go of the permanent window.

I'll be looking to get the Brum match thread up tonight after work (to hopefully incorporate some good business).

It’s just an opinion. Might well be wrong but I think people are expecting tonnes done today which imo, won’t happen. I think we will get some quality in next couple of weeks myself and a couple max today.

Stoke are scrambling like mad. Had a bid turned down for Tom Lawrence and they were only bidding yesterday haha

Marcelo Bielsa wants to end Mo Besic’s Everton nightmare by bringing him to Leeds in a £4.5million deal.

Elland Road boss Bielsa aims to seal the Bosnian midfielder’s full-time switch before the transfer window shuts at 5pm today.

But, if the Argentinian coach fails to beat the deadline, he plans to take Besic on loan for the season before making the move permanent next summer.

Despite the impressive start Leeds made to their campaign with a 3-1 opening day win over relegated Stoke last Sunday, Bielsa still feels he needs to strengthen his central midfield options.

And he has identified Besic as his top target after learning that the Berlin-born former Hamburg ball winner is surplus to requirements at Goodison.

I know Britt didn't score on Tuesday but I thought he played well. I think we need to hang onto him and Braithwaite.

100% with you, cant see who we could bring in that could replace him for one, and he is settled, that could take time for new signings, and we need someone who can do a job now with the games coming thick and fast!

agree to a point, i'd rather have a specialist winger and push Braithwaite inside

Someone asked me about him the other day and i said the same. he may personally want to move back to france, but he's a thorough professional on the pitch and will give his all to the job he's asked to do by the manager
