Summer Transfer Window 2018.

The implication is clear and is utterly ridiculous. Adama might have got in the team as the only winger. He stayed in there because he made us tick and subsequently was worth £18m of a Premier League club's money. I'm forced to ask if Adama Traore isn't a Pulis type winger, then who on Earth is?

Shotton.

Can we not have this ‘pulis type player’ argument for the 20th time, has to be the most annoying phrase of the summer.

Nah mate, we have to go over old ground again and discuss why Pulis never wanted Traore and was absolutely and utterly elated when he left so he could sign Jordan Hugill to play there.

Maybe the question should be why was Pulis shopping him around if he was so desperate to have him here?

I think the club have stitched Braithwaite right up with this one.

He’s always given his best on the pitch and we’ve clearly had an agenda to move him on since January.

Saying ‘he wants to leave’ line was predicted and covers the club after selling our four best players in one summer.

With everything that’s going on, Pulis has got to be on some sort of kind of bonus structure for selling players whilst retaining a decent league position.

It’s Tony Mowbray 2.0, except this time the manager is on board with it and he’s a lot better at PR.

Either that or he actually does just want to leave?

He was house hunting last week, so he must be very upset at being forced out of the club this week. ;)

I realise I’m definitely in the minority on this one, but this is just my opinion based on the pattern of outgoing transfers this season and the PR spin that has accompanied each one.

The club are really pushing the ‘he wants to leave’ line, but we’ve been trying to get rid of him since things went sour with Monk in December/January and we started a clear (to me anyway) agenda of recovering costs.

It’s a two way thing, not as simple as the club and some fans are making out.

We where trying to get rid of bamford in January. But braithwaite asked to leave so we let him go instead.

mcqueen can play either left or right fullback. covers us on both defensive flanks. well stocking in the middle. plenty in midfield, we have a gap of supporting attacking midfielders, if we get saville and puncheon in that would cover that. let braithwaite  go recoup 8 mill, nice one.

an injury crisis of key flexible players would be a problem. but with 3-4 injuries spread about we'd be fine. dont think we /any chempo club is in a financial position to have a squad big enough to cope with a several first teamers out all at once. its just not worth it imo. karanka used to sign players on loan to just sit on the bench as cover. bit daft for me.

I'm not sure he can play on the right. Almost all his games have been on the left side. Only 11 on the right wing if Transfermarkt is anything to go by. 20 PL games and 18 League 1 games isn't a lot so he will have a job on his hands displacing Friend - og Downing for that matter. Still a decent signing. Hope he fares better than Connor Roberts last season.

defence - mcqueen, shotton, ayala, flint, fry, friend.

midfield - clayton, mcnair, besic, leadboots, wing, howson, saville, downing, puncheon.

strikers - britt, hugill, fletcher, gestede.

might lose fletch and leadboots, johnson the worldie will be gone. but looking like a nice lean squad if we do get punch and saville.

about time after have a couple of years of senior players not getting onto the bench. which in this day and age with daft wages is insane for me.

could be Traore or his agent had said we're off if we get a better offer and so the club said the sooner we get the money in the sooner we can get a replacement in.....or try to

Assuming that was even the case seems a bit of a stretch but I'd guess at that being to make funds available to bring in players to balance the squad out. But the fact is we didn't push him out the door at the end of it, we received a bid we literally couldn't refuse so I'm forced to ask why I should believe we didn't really want him to stay?

there is a highlights video from 2014 must be saints u23's, he plays on the right and cuts in on his left foot all the time. looked comfortable on that side. i know its just highlights but when someone is on the wrong side and are not comfortable it tends to stand out like a sore thumb. just my hunch.

Once he’s up to speed, he’ll probably play lwb, with Friend moving to the left side of the back 3. Downing could play as a number 10, behind the striker.

thats probably what will happen, or certainly an option we will have. shotton will stay on the right. he's quite reliable is shotton so only temp cover needed for him in the shoft term.

Gutted about Braithwaite. He's been a massive part of our early season form. I just hope we can snag 2 quality players with our remaining loan spots or it's been a fairly embarrassing performance from our recruitment team.

You’ll all have to put me in the OneBoro stockade and throw tomatoes at me because I think the club will happily get any high earners off the books and sell anyone for a decent fee that they can until further notice! (and they’re not being ‘transparent’ with fans which they made a big point of last year, in fact I think they’re being the opposite)

Every player is available for the right price and that’s the same at every club.
