£15m+ want similar deal to Masson

They want a similar deal to Mawson?

I imagine we do. Using him as a benchmark for Gibbo.

We'll end up getting a decent amount of money from our sales (Fabio 1.5m, Bamford 7m, Traore £14m ish after Villa's cut, Gibson 14m ish, plus whaterver Barragan went for), at least it gives us a better chance of filling problem positions

If we end up losing Gibson and Adama :liar:

I can stomach Gibson but we're going to need a lot of players in if they go and on top of that potentially still Britt, Braithwaite, Johnson, Fletcher and Leadbitter, going to be a huge turn around in the last week of a transfer window.

Yeah we'll bring in lots of money and then waste it on garbage like we usually do I'd expect.

Adama was taking his medical last week for Wolves remember, let's stay positive whilst we can.

Yeah, at this point Adama has been gone about 4 separate times, I'll let it be true when he's stood holding the Wolves shirt.

The info I used to get was from someone high up. Doesn’t divulge anything anymore.

What I’ve heard today is from a player. Hopefully it’s wrong and I’d be love to be proven incorrect.

Oh dear. You would expect a player to have a good idea of what's going on

I’ve never ever been so pessimistic going into the start of a season. I’m dreading this season to be honest. I’m already getting that feeling of I can’t wait until next season and this one hasn’t started yet. I want to be positive but there’s nothing to be positive about. We are losing all our best players and look like we will end up with a team of plodders. I really think attendances are going to take a major hit this season unfortunately.

As Tony Mowbray said it is what it is... ultimately we have 40mil to get a balanced team. Doesn’t have to be full of flair but sort problem positions and we still have a chance.

    • I think how much people rate Bamford is quite bizarre also. It certainly isn't a hands down decision between Britt and Bamford. In fact between the 2 their goalscoring records in the championship are remarkably similar. Bamford has 55 in 147 where Britt has 65 from 169, meaning Britts is marginally better. However, I know people are going to say for at least 15-20 of those games Bamford didn't play as a striker but Assombalonga played more under Pulis which is even more of a disadvantage. On a side note, I know Pulis and a number of his staff really didn't see eye to eye with Assombalonga but I can't blame Britt for being a bit annoyed at the tactics being employed which didn't suit his or most strikers games.   I personally think Britt is a better goalscorer than Bamford but Bamford is a more intelligent player. Britt misses more than Bamford granted but he puts himself in those situations to score/miss a lot more than Bamford does also.   Anyhow sorry for sidetracking the thread further I just think the tunnel vision related to Bamford at times is barmy!
    • He's the best striker we've had in the Championship in the entire decade we've been here, in my opinion. We've had a bunch of relatively high scoring strikers during the past decade, Emnes, McDonald, Bamford and Britt. I think Bamford sits at the top of that list.
    • I'm surprised people on here still don't realise he's far better than what we have now. And the best championship striker we've had for years. But hey.
    • The bar for strikers over the last decade or so is awfully low - is it really surprising that people rate Bamford highly, when he probably is up there in the conversation for best striker we've had in years?
