oneBoro MOTM/Player Ratings Thread 2018/19 Season

Recommended Posts

Surprised at the low score for Britt. Won us the game with a brilliant piece of play. Granted he missed when through on goal and on another play could have pulled it back for Braithwaite instead of shooting. I think the cushioned header from Howson was just a few centimeters too far from him to connect properly and direct it into goal. All in all I think he was good up front and certainly a handful for the Brum defenders. Also deserved an extra mark for kicking the ball into his own face :)

Bristol v Boro 18-Aug-2018

A close one at the top, with 3 players all coming out on the same score to 2dp (well, two and the gaffer)

Boro v West Brom 24-Aug-2018

Howson is too soon to win another MOTM award? Not soon enough apparently for this bright not-so-young thing!

Randolph and Britt - 6 (neither could do an awful lot different)

Downing, Howson, Besic, Saville, Hugill - 4

5s all round expect for them

Pulis, wake up and smell the *** show today my baseball-capped friend. Bottom of the pile with a 3.

He was being asked to do the job of 2 strikers for about 60 minutes, what more were we supposed to expect from him?

    • I think we'll be ok in the end but it's a lot closer than it should be.  I don't think we'll be relegated as there are worse teams than us and that'll be the difference rather than us being too good ourselves.  Things need sorting out in a big way before the following season.
    • I'm interested as how players will perform playing behind closed doors. You always hear of players who were brilliant in training but could never find that performance in the games. Without the pressure of fans I wonder if we will see some surprise performances from certain players. From watching a bit of the Bundesliga this past week or so it seems the home advantage doesn't have as big an impact without the fans there.
    • The thing is if we do end up selling Fry or any other player for decent money we can rebuild a strong side if our scouting is up too scratch. As alot of clubs will be struggling financially this summer so it will very much be a buyer's market! Just hope we do alot better than last summer's recruits 🙄.  I am very much against selling Fry and spending the magority on bringing in Gibson believe there is alot cheaper options out there and if it wasn't for the nostalgia we wouldn't be looking at Gibson!
    • The Daily Fail are reporting that Galatasaray are in for Lyle Taylor now... Odd one that.
    • So what you are saying is we could stay up or we could go down.
