Denzel Zanzibar 6,972
Brilliant Match Thread. Excellent. William Shakespeare please forgive... (but you’ve inspired me...) Once more up the pitch, defence, once more; And meet the ball with a flashing head. At set-piece there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the whistle blast blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of Ayala; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend Dael Fry a terrible aspect; Let fly through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let then Howson o'erhead it As forcefully above a Redcar rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean. Now pick McQueen and stretch Stu Downin’ wide, Hold hard Braithwaite and send up Aden Flint To his full height. On, on, you noblest English. Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof! Fathers that, like so many Assombalongas, Have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: Dishonour not the boro; now attest That those whom you call'd Pulis did select you. Be copy now to men of grosser blood, And teach them how to score. And you, good Shotton, Whose limbs were made in England, show us here The mettle of your pasture; let McNair At the back post steal in; when he’s mark’d not; For there is none of you so mean and base, That hath not noble Clayton in your team. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow Mo Besic, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Tony, the Boro, and Saint George You win the thread. Rioch's Braves 711
Sad news from the Bolton end, Stephen Darby has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Had no idea he was Steph Houghton's fella. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45561264 That's absolutely tragic news, heart goes out to the lad, wish they could find a cure for these bloody horrible diseases. Betamaxman 14
Loved the opening thread picture, but reading the olde English did my head in. I'm hoping that last Saturday was a blip. Annoying, because I had a bet with a Norwich mate for a curry. I was feeling pretty confident going in to the game.... which is the moment The Boro always stings you. 2-0 Boro tomorrow, surely? Borodane 6,301
Results not really going our way tonight so far. Could do with a few goals going in the right direction in the second half.
Foogle 2,104
At this stage of the season we shouldn't be looking at how anyone else is doing, just need to focus on picking up points of our own.
wilsoncgp 9,283
If we win, we'll be back into 2nd. I'd say that's positive enough in terms of other results.

Motor Mouth 255
Boro have to go out tonight and get straight into Bolton don't give them any respect whatsoever just hammer them from the kick off. Leeds had a good result last night they don't want to drop down the table and Boro should be of the same mind. My only problem is I cannot see a mean striker in a Boro shirt these days and I worry if we are going to carry on carrying Britass for the rest of the season or get rid of him in January. I prefer the latter.
Borodane 6,301
In this setup we aren’t carrying Britt. He is doing enough up front he just hasn’t had any support at all in the last two matches.
Will 2,958
In this setup we aren’t carrying Britt. He is doing enough up front he just hasn’t had any support at all in the last two matches. This. He's worked his ass off to fit this system so far this season and on the whole has been good so far. The only games he's been below par is the games without Braithwaite where there's been nobody within 20 yards of him most of the game. Fry gave an interview a week or so ago talking about how he thought Britt got nowhere near enough credit for the job he's doing for the team and I agree.
wilsoncgp 9,283
He's had to do the job of about 2 or 3 forwards in the last 2 games. His decision making is still in question but I can't see how we expect him to get it spot on between dropping deep, playing on the last defender and running the channels every game and get it right every time. Even the lads who were close to one another on the pitch couldn't see where the pass was going to come from against Norwich, he had no chance.
Maccarone 265
Britt has needs support, he's doing the job he's told to do but sadly lacking support, hopefully Braithwaite and maybe even Saville will offer that tonight.
