I think Steve Round is a quality appointment if he's the DoF. Leo will at least get the fans going and he was more like an assistant to Karanka

Brunners 7,982
Do we think the official announcement will be tomorrow or is this dragging out for the rest of the week?

Could he be coming in as rhe new 1st team coach?
"KM" 1,656
I still feel Round would be coming in as assistant rather than DoF. How much experience does he actually have as a DoF? Anyone feel the potential appointment of Leo/Round tie in with what Steve Crossman wrote on Twitter the other day? They are two coaches who you could see stay at the club for a long duration and work under/with any manager the club appoint.

Ayresome365 44
Was Round much use at Villa as DOF? He left them a year ago. Their transfer strategy was pretty gung-ho and their playing style was essentially the same as ours (under TP) in his time there.
Dan1234 1,056
Was Round DoF at Villa during the time they blew tons of money on ***? We already have people who are excellent at that.
BoroJake 2,345
I can’t see Steve round coming in as anything other than DoF. I doubt Leo would leave his current job to be goalkeeper coach

And if it is the case I do not mind having that level of continuity given people are performing in their respective roles.
LinoJo3 3,191
He was but at the same time a lot of the players they brought in last season were playing this season. I’m hoping it was round that set up the deal for McGinn.
