HoyteForLeftBack 194
I’m pretty sure the gazette said that every player who came down with us had relegation wage reduction clause. Anything else would be severely careless from the club. This is Middlesbrough we're talking about. The same Middlesbrough that gave a 30 year old a 5 year deal with an automatic extension/wage increase??

The same Middlesbrough that gave a 30 year old a 5 year deal with an automatic extension/wage increase?? It was a 4 year deal and it hasn’t been extended yet. Still a bad decision though. LinoJo3 3,191
“but we understand possible assault charges against the player could impact on his immediate future.” Top notch investigative journalism right there
Tom 2,492
Gazette reporting that there's no recall clause in Batth's loan, so he's one that won't be leaving, unless we agree to send him back to Wolves.

Just to add to this a little they also say on the Fulham trio 'GazetteLive understand Boro do not have an interest in any of the 3 Fulham players linked, they've been touted by their agents to a few Championship clubs but Boro have no interest in any of them'. Their sources don't deny the Vassell news coming out today which is... well... it is what it is.

Tom 2,492
So the breaking news of today is Danny bathh is staying... And the Vassell link yeah. Anyone hoping for a managerial announcement this morning, or any time before May, is going to be disappointed, it seems. :disappointed:
LinoJo3 3,191
Just a strong link to a decent player would be nice!
smogsterking the Inspirati 2,490
Typical Palace have played Wickham and he's scored today which makes him unavailable for our road to Wembley :(.
LinoJo3 3,191
After watching a couple videos of him and reading brum fans opinions I actually think of we could sell fletcher and get vassell in that would be good business. The guy looks about as strong and quick as adama, mixed finishing though, seems to have decent technique but doesn’t always hit the target.
FamilyBoro 140
Typical Palace have played Wickham and he's scored today which makes him unavailable for our road to Wembley :(. I think he has actually looked decent first half, yeah goal was a tap in but he has been powerful and focus point for them. Also his presence caused the pen
LinoJo3 3,191
Connor wickham earned himself a premiership move and stayed at that level, before his injury there were suggestions he could get an england call up. People who thought he wasn’t good enough for us are deluded.
Changing Times 12,347
Connor wickham earned himself a premiership move and stayed at that level, before his injury there were suggestions he could get an england call up. People who thought he wasn’t good enough for us are deluded. A history of injury problems and on a wage higher than anyone at Boro. Sounds ideal. Great goal scoring record as well. Standard Cliched reply that doesn’t actually mention anything about the players ability. His ability at what? He's a footballer with a poor history with injuries who gets paid a lot of money and he's a striker with a poor goal scoring record. What would you like me to say mate, he's a biggish bloke, physical presence and blah blah blah? What does that have to do with ability? What ability do you think he has other than those things, I'd be interested to hear it? He scored a tap in today against Spurs' reserve side. Big deal. How about this - Palace are desperate for a striker, he is their striker, so let's see if they go with him for the remainder of the season. If they do then let's see how well he does over a period of time before we decide that he's a good signing. It's a standard cliched reply because it's a standard cliched post about a player who will 'definitely' improve us without any real reasons why this is. An England call up? For scoring 5 goals? Yeah that would quite possibly sum up some of the stupidity that you get around England. Thankfully we seem to be picking players who have ability now rather than people who can 'do a job' and that's Wickham down to a tee in my opinion. This last injury was a nightmare for him no question but look at the two seasons before it - 5 goals in 21 games, 5 goals in 36. What ability does that show exactly?
