Boro v Hull 1-0 (Assombalonga)

Recommended Posts

Unbelievably brilliant BU. I’m still laughing at it. I really hope that SD doesn’t get the chance to sing to us this season. Absolutely well done mate :)

Nah, 1-0 hull and tav to make an appearance after 88mins. TP to complain about his lack of impact post match.

So without sounding toooo confident, and despite the fact that we've just lost 6 games in a row with the exception of beating a woeful Bolton Team... IF we manage to get 3 points against Hull, our remaining games are on paper the most favourable of the chasing pack. Maybe on par with Derby, but Hull, Villa and Bristol City's remaining games are significantly tougher.

all we need is Good King Fletchy to bag a brace every game :) and if Britt chips in with a goal every once in a while, awesome :)

What can I say about that introduction? Very, very funny!

Tony's wife is probably spot on so I see a draw from this game, any lingering hopes were dashed by Villa last night

Looking forward to some of "Tony Pulis' lit football", going to go for a 2-1 win!

Hull are in good form and with Bowen, Grosiki and Campbell in the side I think they're a huge threat to our defense who aren't comfortable against players who are good with the ball at their feet. I'll go for a cautious 1-1, but given our home record, like others I wouldn't be in the least surprised to lose this.

A 1-0 defeat or 1-1 draw with us getting a late equaliser.

Anything other than a win and we'll see the level of protests against Pulis ramp up again.

2-1 Hull City

Hull are a much better side than people give them credit for. I can't see why us beating a very poor Bolton team makes us a side that can beat these guys.

Saville is going to get crucified by Bowen. I'm sure there is an appropriate 80's joke in that sentence somewhere.

I am trying my best to stay positive. My heart tells me 2-1 to us with Ayala FGS. My head is telling me every negative outcome possible so I will keep them thoughts to myself and go with my heart. ?

    • Well very pleased to see England close the day on 156-3. Very controlled and patient batting for most of the day from Root and Denly have gotten us to this stage. Stokes in the last hour of the day came into bat at 5 in survival mode and made 2 runs (not out) off 50 balls. The first session of tomorrow's play will decide the outcome of this test match (and the Ashes). If Stokes and Root can survive the first 8 overs of play unscathed. At which point the new ball is available to Australia. They will then have to contend with the new ball and the threats that come with it. If they can get to lunch unscathed after the new ball I think that is when the test becomes ours to lose. At this stage I'd happily take England scoring 30 runs all session if it meant losing no wickets. It will also be England's highest ever run chase if we are successful.
    • Our problem has been that we just don't score goals, we've been amongst the lowest scorers in the championship both pre and post our 1 season recently in the PL. This season, although it's early on, seems to be going the same way. While Britt does get goals, he's not what you'd call prolific, we've been set up as a defensive team for a few years now through different managers and scoring has been an added bonus to not conceding goals.
    • No worse than some of the goals our players have missed, and he also scored today. Hugill has scored 3 goals so far this season. That's more than our top scorers. Imagine if he'd scored at the same rate for us as he is now - we might have gone up! Not sure what we do to our strikers - they always seem to do well for everyone else but do less well for us. Bamford a possible exception as he did well for us, although he's really banging them in for Leeds at the moment.
