We've still got the better fixtures so I reckon we'll still nick 6th.

I won’t leave you on your own CT. You have my full support. Good man yourself

Derby have a nice little goal difference over us and Bristol City, I love this club but I honestly don't want us to make the play offs playing this horrible style of boring crap football, 45 goals its embarrassing we're a disgrace to football.

Incidentally, stoke are now only 2 goals behind us and are one of only 3 teams that have scored less than us this season. There is a very real chance we will finish bottom 3 of goals scored.

And there are still some out there who will defend pulis and say that it's the players and not him. The players have had the life sucked out of them.

Beginning of the season we stumbled on a formation that worked for us due to injuries. Then we played Leeds who were flying and we defended like lions. That was the changing point of the season. Pullis saw that we could defend and that made him happy as a pig in *** and thought he could do that all season. He then brought in Saville, hugill and besic and was forced to shoehorn the them in to justify bringing them in and that disrupted the balance of the team.

It's been terrible since then. We lost away to Norwich and never improved.

Changes needed

Woke up after a night shift this afternoon and couldn't even be ***d to listen to us, I had a feeling we'd lose and we did.

Players know we're staying in the Championship for another season and a few are probably already onto their agents to get them a move. Gibson won't care, it just means more money for him not to put back into the club.

There are no circumstances ever that I will thrash talk the Boro. They are my team and I support them through thick and thin. I always have done and I always will do. Sorry if that upsets you

ive had enough ,absolutely sick of hearing commentators/pundits  saying weve offered nothing,, hardly been in thier area, slowlethargic negative tactics etc etc .... The only reason i want us to win is  down to the fact i was brought up a boro fan and its in my blood that will never leave me but as we are at present  i honestly dont want to go through any more listening or watching this regime and its dourness.  i hope derby put us out our misery and clinch the last spot , football doesnt need or deserve to have us in those exciting end of season  climaxes.

Since a few come on here and like to talk about our record against the top 6 this season as a reason we might do ok in the play offs, here's a wake up call -

Against the teams currently in the top half of the Championship, Boro have only won once (West Brom a) since October 19.

    • In fairness to Gibson, he's not likely going to invest a lot of money while Warnock is in charge. I expect he'll be given a modest transfer budget...just a bit more than he had this season. Its not going to be another Garry Monk spending spree, thats for sure. At the moment I think the club is in damage limitation mode until they can get fans back in the stadium and money coming through the turnstiles. I think its a case of better the devil you know. We're not likely to improve much next season, but another mid-table finish will do while the club gets back on its feet financially and is in a position to attract a better standard of manager. I mean, if you were a talented and ambitious manager, would you look at Boro as a good career move right now?
    • Indeed. We can point to lack of quality and strength in depth, (which definitely were factors), but how often did Boro concede ridiculously soft goals, either due to inept keeping or defending...basic schoolboy errors? If we'd at least been decently organised at the back, (not watertight - just decent), we might well be looking forward to the play-offs.
    • We finished exactly where I expected us to, in all honesty. Always found the talk of play offs baffling when we just about stayed up last year and didn't improve the squad in any meaningful way.  You can get promoted with average players and a great manager (likes of Leeds, Sheff Utd, Burnley) or you can just have a bigger squad with much better players than everyone else (Bournemouth, Watford, WBA, Fulham etc). Then you get Wolves, Norwich, Newcastle that have both and walk the league.  We had the money to make a bigger, better squad than everyone else and blew it... We've also had about 5 opportunities to get the manager right. Now we have neither and that won't be changing over the summer, so I think people need to be realistic. Is Gibson working behind the scenes to bring in an ambitious, upcoming Bundesliga manager to take over Warnock's steady mid-table ship? Find it hard to believe personally.  Foreign billionaire fancies an investment in the north east? Again, highly doubt it... and careful what you wish for anyway and all that. We're a mid-table Championship side until a big catalyst comes in.
    • I just can't see where the money is going to come from judging from the club accounts and Bulkhauls horrendous year. Unless sales are happening
    • As mentioned above I do feel the lack of depth and quality in the first half of the season had an impact with us unable to rotate and rest players in our squad meaning we struggled in the 2nd half of the season. The likes of Mcnair were playing 4 games in 8-9 days with the international breaks but we didn't have any option to rest him given injuries and lack of quality to cover him. I think we were only a point off Watford when we got to January. Unfortunately our 3 loanees came with a lack of match sharpness requiring time to settle and then we lost the likes of Tav Dijksteel and Fry at important parts of the season. I agree with the second part I do worry with giving Warnock significant money considering he has probably got no more than 12 months left with us. It would be a huge gamble and if it goes wrong it sets us back another few years. However we need a fair few signings to even get on par regarding the standard of our squad for this season.
