SDS, it’s Dijksteel at Rockliffe

For all those asking about these 4 players at rockcliffe just before weekend. I have done some digging appears it was bola Browne and 2 premiership loan players, sketchy with details but I believe the

NB. I can see us cashing in on Armstrong for a small fee in same way we did with Geroge Miller.

Yeah i think Coulsons injury was a bad one, brunners, but prior to that he was talked about highly.

The Full backs from that list are in with a big shout. Coulson had a horror injury so hopefully hes put that behind him. Reading and spence were both very solid for u23s last year

When did we even buy him? Was he a monk purchase? I remember he was like a last minute buy but I can't remember when.

The way I recall it is that he was signed because Monk realised he had no bloody wingers on the left-hand side and suddenly decided he wanted to change to that tactic at the last minute. At this point, I believe Downing might still have been on the fringes and Monk only fancied him on the right in the end, had a decent partnership with Christie.

So he goes to his mate Clotet, throws a few million pound at one of his players who Clotet says fits the bill. He has a decent cameo at Bolton and a good home debut vs. QPR then vanished into a shell. I remember watching him live in that dreadful game at the Riverside vs. Derby. He was very hesitant to do anything. For a winger, he had no spring in his step and was often just a safe outlet to pass the ball backwards by the half-way line.

We made a loss on George Miller , not huge in actual £/Pounds but the % knock would seem high.

The fee to bring Miller to the Riverside is thought to be less than the originally-mooted £1m, but could go beyond that with add-ons, and Boro have twice saw approaches rebuffed by the Shakers over the last fortnight.

The League One play-off contenders have made a reported £200,000 plus add-ons offer to take the young hitman to Oakwell.

Recouping a 1/4 or a 1/5 of our outlay on Miller seems awful business.

Apart from Lewis Wing I'm struggling to see what young prospects we've signed on a low fee , that have either broken into the first team or turned a decent profit.

Remember this guy (Mikael Soisalo)  https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/introducing-mikael-soisalo-middlesbrough-academys-12740335

If the new club plan is to buy bargain prospects from the lower leagues in the hopes of coming good , I think we need to up our game from previous examples (Wing excluded of course).

We absolutely did not pay that much for Miller. Not even close

Brahimi contract expires next month - and previous stories had him linked with a move to Liverpool, Newcastle or Rennes.

(That's if he hasn't had a new contract agreed since these stories)

We scrambled for Johnson because we chased Ryan Kent for a month+ and missed out is my recollection, he was actually impressive in a League cup cameo last season but compare his technical ability to a guy like Lowe and he's just not there. The youngsters training are an interesting bunch Malley at 19 should get a big preseason chance the Liddles/Coulsons/Stubbs/Readings are probably candidates for loans for Stubbs I'd hope a League 1 loan step him up a gear same for Coulson, feel bad for Liddle I wanted to see him put 10 games together in League 2 but that loan just seemed to be a nightmare for him.

I'm interested in the type of players there he didn't call up it might be a clue to his thinking tactically, the more attacking midfield options like Wearne he hasn't picked out, he kept midfield callups to a holding midfielder Liddle and a playmaker type in Malley if he's not so interested in AM's might be a clue we're going for a 433 formation maybe? Armstrong probably needs a move for his own sake as well he needs 30-40 games a season at his age and as for Walker he'll get plenty of chances in friendlies with Britt away so yeah I like that group he's not really fast tracking anyone besides Wood hopefully a couple of them standout in the next couple of weeks.

Someone on FMTTM reckons that Brahimi has already left the club essentially.

I think he has too as he not in a single picture in the pre season photos but virtually all the other youngsters are
