Summer Transfer Window 2019/20 Season

Recommended Posts

as it stands the central defender is maybe the most pressing  position we need filling.  Shotton is a liability in there, Ayala will pick up injuries and bans and Fry is going to attract  attention which eventually may well be too good to turn down.  also the new guy needs to be  a regular starter or on a par with fry and ayala  at the very least  .  we do need a rb and rw too   and a striker  if  can manage it.

Maybe i'm living in fantasy land, but Ben Gibson on loan would be nice, as would Reece James, although I fear they are both off to other Premier League clubs - Gibson permanently and James on loan.

No chance in my humble opinion.

Talking about Clayton ..

Do we need a player of his type as back up?  Or can Howson or McNair fill in? They are not similar to Clayton's style, so we might need that type for this new system... If he God forbid got injured

Possibly the most important position in the system we have. I think we definitely need someone else.

I think so too!

Saville never did it for me as the anchored CM

McNair?

Possibly. I haven’t really seen enough of him in midfield to know. Saville and Howson for me would be a definite no though.

Wasn't Malley thought of by the club to be making that role his own by the end of the season?

I thought the U23 coach said he was more a number 10 when we beat Bishop Aukland.

I think we will get a cheap right back, possibly Hutton, and loans for a winger and centre back. Getting too late for significant long term signings now.

I feel for those we've missed out on. We are a great club and have what looks to be a good coaching team

The lad who's gone to Reading has been sold a dud.

We couldn't get him in because we can't shift Rudy, that's not him choosing Reading over us.

dont think we need another cb personally, well at least not as a priority. we have ayala and fry likely first choice which is about as good as you get in the champo. shotton and friend as backups. friend bola and coulson at left back, might see george play in the middle more. which i'm totally fine with as its good to have a left footer on left cb.

the attacking right back is priority with a cm and a shotton covering until we get a genuine one. cant just hoy spence in. especially while we have new blood on the other side.

deffo need a attacking mid, if wing is injured where are the goals coming from? i dont rate saville at all, tbh i dont even know what he supposed to bring to the team. he doesnt move the ball quickly at all just ambles round. hes average af. never mind monk tranfers being questioned flint and saville ones smell of back handers to me.

another winger needed, johnson and browne with fletch capable. not enough at all. once we have the new winger fletch will probably be cover for britt mainly.

bomb gestede out asap and saville please. not a real priority but i'd like to sell shotton, pulling my hair out watching him bomb long balls or completely waste possession giving a simple pass straight to the other team. ***.

But he could have been told to wait. Come Wednesday Gibson may have signed it off. Agent just wanted his money I guess.

    • There are no positives, if we do get relegated we would get rid of the high earners but we would be offered a lot less for the players than their market value, beggars can't be choosers. Season ticket prices would have to fall, but fans may start to think the chairman  has pulled their pants down once to often so I  see a fan backlash. I think it would be a complete financial disaster, and who honestly would want to invest financially into a club where the owner has shown how incompetent he is  time and time again. We would struggle to come back up we should be a lot better than this, its criminal that we have to talk about it but its a possibility..
    • If you get it right in League One by creating a winning mentality and smashing the league it creates a certain environment and positive feeling around the club. Look at modern day Leicester, Norwich, Bournemouth and how the foundations built in League One propelled them up the leagues. Personally based on the current structure of the club and the decisions of the last 5 years relegation for us would be an absolute disaster as the gap between Championship and Premier League grows. You get it wrong and you end up like Sunderland, Blackpool, Ipswich or a Portsmouth destined to remain a lower league club without significant investment
    • Middlesbrough vs QPR (H) The year is 2012, the headlines read:   "Queens Park Rangers have sacked manager Neil Warnock after a run of eight Premier League games without a win. The 63-year-old took charge at Loftus Road in March 2010 and led Rangers to promotion last season, but leaves with them lying 17th in the top flight."   Neil is left to stew in a fit of rage: after catapulting QPR into the Premier League, he's been sacked halfway through the next season before he could even recover from his new years hangover! He begins plotting his elaborate revenge, after 8 years and 6 (largely irrelevant) jobs later he finally has the chance to prove himself by keeping a relegation threatened team in the league, whilst doing it against the team that didn't believe he had that survival instinct in him. This is the story of Neil Warnock's redemption!   Matchday Information Sunday 2pm brings us a do or die clash as Warnock’s Boro failed to keep some momentum going against fellow basement dwellers Hull, the hiring of Warnock has failed to arrest the slump in matchday ticket sales as the attendance is staying steady around the 0 mark. We have home advantage for this, if that still makes a difference… After being excited about football starting again, I am now equally excited for football to be finished again. With QPR having nothing to play for - losing all 3 of their fixtures since the return - can we take advantage of their bad form and seemingly indifferent performances? The good news is that at this end of the table one positive result will give us a massive amount of breathing room.   The Reverse Fixture Earlier on in the season – We played to a 2-2 draw in a period of 10 games without a win. We’ll all be hoping that the Hull game isn't the start of a similar run of results. There’s only so many teams left who can let us off the hook by going into administration.   Injuries Both sides have a clean bill of health for this one.   View from the Opposition https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/260261/middlesbrough-sunday/#27   Questions Score predictions for this one? Lineups for the game? Will Warnock keep us safe? Will he be here next year if he does? Do we even deserve to stay up if we rely on other teams being handed points deductions? Do you prefer to have your Saturday ruined or your Sunday ruined?
    • Totally agree, we simply stopped after the equaliser and somehow the players did not see what we were in that Hull were there for the taking.
    • That is a very valid point about crowds and probably overlooked by many of us, I beileve that we simply can not afford to go down plain and simple
