Summer Transfer Window 2019/20 Season

Recommended Posts

That is a relief, it would be suicide to get rid of our better, more experienced players. We need to maintain a balance of youth and experience otherwise we could be in for a long old season imho!

Yeah - sort of my point? A sarcastic swipe at people who don't think he's as good as Firmino perhaps - or do you genuinely think I was serious and that was the shot he missed?

He didn't compare him to Firmino though did he ? He said he would like a striker in the Firmino role who scores less individually but helps the team score more.

Also, how anybody can defend a professional footballer missing the target from 12 yards out is laughable, obviously the best in the world also miss pens, but that doesn't make it any less woeful when it does happen.

Just a little observation.  Have a read back over the past few pages before putting some comments on, lots of people commenting on Britt actually leaving and shirts and other stuff.  It's all getting a mental on here.  Not having a dig fellow fans, it's just making me eyes bleed a bit. peace X x

Wonder who would be interested in Sav?

QPR most likely. Warburton is a big fan.

if we are in the position of having to sell to buy, saville is probably first out the door(after gestede). its a no brainer really.

britt as much as he is flawed and very frustrating, still offers a lot.

fry has massive potential keep him as long as possible to get a higher fee.

if we are after a different striker to fit the new system, we sell one first right? if nobody wants gestede(lol) i think i'd rather keep fletcher over britt simply because we are also short of wingers. its a big risk selling ur top striker though. better be sure of the replacement.

I would love us to ship Saville to qpr and find a way of getting Eze back in return.

    • I don't understand why some people can't see it, it seems pretty obvious to me when I watch him.  It's not even like I have a downer on him because he's a midfielder being asked to do something different to what he's spent most of his career doing.  When he's had decent games playing out of position, it's entirely to his credit that he's managed to adapt to what he's being asked to do.
    • Hold on a second, just stop right there please. Rather than pull out the argument crap or the tin foil crap or whatever, why not take the point of view that perhaps people just disagree with you and they aren't doing it to be arsey.  It's getting a bit tedious now mate as you seem to think it's your right to say whatever you like unchallenged. I didn't say his changes recently are up for discussion because they are of his choice.  I never said anything about recent decisions at all. I said the decisions he has chosen to make, those not forced upon him, whenever he made them, are up for discussion and that those changes haven't lead to any improvement.  We can focus on the latest ones if you like but I'd say that's a season long thing, it's not like we weren't making changes earlier in the season because let's face it, we changed dramatically right at the start of the season, before any injuries occurred.  I mean we moved away from what appeared to be his preferred way of playing after about a 135 mins of football - it had bugger all to do with injuries and it had nothing to with results as we hadn't really played any games!   A draw at Luton and 45 mins against Brentford?  He panicked and made changes because he wanted to not because his hand was forced.  So, he can win in this discussion by winning on the pitch, now, then, whenever.  We aren't winning on the pitch, his changes haven't tended to work and that's the issue.  You're trying to turn it into a 'he can't win' scenario because you're trying to defend him.  That's your prerogative just as it's mine to point out that it's ***.  Ok?
    • Thats just par for the course and goes for any sports team. They're happy to talk about anything when things are going well, but stick rigidly to the script when the *** hits the fan (and if they do try to be honest they end up contradicting themselves, as you saw). I wouldn't expect to get any sense out of anyone at the club, until the after the other shoe has dropped and we either get relegated, get a new manager, or both. The truth tends to only come out long after the dust has settled.
    • Take what you saw and multiply it for the whole 90 minutes. It was just him getting caught out of position time after time after time. I personally thought of the two wingbacks Johnson had the better game.
