Summer Transfer Window 2019/20 Season

I think Woodgate has learned from past transfer windows. We are always hearing we are aiming to get 3/4 in coming up to deadline which we invariably fail to do and fans kick off. But by saying we are only likely to get 1 target in then ending up with 3/4 the club will be hailed as heroes.

The tell is he himself bemoaned a 'thin' squad 6 days ago saying he needed a 'few' in since then we've signed 1 in Dijksteel.

My guess is Vickers is correct we're after a specialist RB that isn't Hutton and a Prem attacking midfielder who can play striker if we only get 1 it'll look par if we get both it'll look good. I think if we get a pacey prem Winger-Striker and a RB we're pretty well covered everywhere except actual CBs but if he believes Friend's genuinely going to be a good LCB we have to go with it.

Not for us, no. Although I think we can still send players to leagues 1 and 2 till the end of August.

If it's anyone, it may be Kent. It sounded like one we were struggling to get sorted. Which you'd imagine the Kent one would be. But he fits the bill of the type of signing we should be making still.

I reckon it'll most likely be that Wes Burns as he is an attacking midfielder who can play as a striker.

Bit of update... batted off enquiries for Britt Dael Tav Wing today..  not actively looking to sell though if the offer gets stupid people will be sold. One more is a winger / ST. The other RB will probably be Hutton as he is a free agent so less pressure to get the deal done by tomorrow. We are not being held to Ransom. Refreshing to know we aren't being used as a payday though I still think there will be a twist in the tail.

How bloody hard is it to sign a proper winger? We havent signed a winger thats slotted into our first 11 since we brought bloody Stewart downing back.  And even he was in and out depending on the manager. Let that sink in.

    • Agreed. I might be making this up but I swear one of the reasons he left burnley was he missed the South. He's not likely to come all the way up here anyway if that's true. Plus he'll have better opportunities than us.
    • Im convinced Warnock will be given first dibs but not convinced he will want another season here. So who next?... at the end of the day one man and one man only will get a say and a casting vote but chances are, given his track record , thats not going to make things better. for me its a lottery and a game of chance. As with picking a striker to net you lots of goals you just have to hope you happen across the perfect fit. im happpy to appoint a totally unknown and hope for that outcome .  Bruce Rioch is a prime example , no one had any clue about his abilities as a manager but he did a marvellous job on a shoestring. but then look what happened at ARSENAL for the same guy ...and look what happpened immediately after with an unknown french manager. i knew nothing about john neal and lennie lawrence prior to them getting the job here but they both worked out well. sometimes it just falls nicely in place.  as a footnote is anyone noticing the perfect storm forming on the horizon with AK seemingly 2 or 3 losses away from becoming available.
    • Today's the day the 13 game winning run starts 🙂
    • No chance of Eddie Howe.
    • I really don't want another of the merry-go-round-managers. Unearthing a 'Graham Potter' would be ideal.
