Between that, the supposed loan bid for Wells and that Congo media story on Britt departing to Marseille it doesn't take a genius. Yes, it's all so clear now. Britt is going to Marseille (a team he's never been linked with) and we're replacing him with a Striker who we haven't bid for... 1

oldman 155
Selling our top scorer and replacing him with 2-3 lesser players ? Have we learned nothing since our relegation under Southgate. Quality players should always be retained as far as possible.

Just sounds like his personal opinion and speculation, nothing new in it.

Aye, a genius probably wouldn't come to that conclusion you're getting at. ?

Right but the context of him updating with him WANTING it to close right now suggests something's perhaps cropped up. Maybe the Britt stuff from 'mediacongo' is BS maybe it isn't just was putting it out there that there's more evidence we're scrambling for a striker today.
northern boro 449
1 minute ago, Hendrie_7 said: this something you've heard or is it being reported anywhere? MIDDLESBROUGH Some breaking news from Middlesbrough - Wigan Athletic are in talks to sign Ryan Shotton. The deal isn't done yet, but there's a definite chance something could happen if a fee can be agreed. Shotton joined Middlesbrough in a £3m deal three years ago, and is about to head into the final 12 months of his current contract. He's one of the club's higher earners, and it's understood that he will be allowed to leave if the financial terms of a package can be agreed with Wigan. Shotton started last week's season-opener at Luton at centre-half - so would his departure leave Boro short of numbers at the back? Possibly, although Dael Fry is on the verge of coming back from injury and Jonathan Woodgate has strongly hinted that he sees George Friend as a centre-half as well as a full-back this season. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/17823807.follow-deadline-day-action-north-east-live/
wilsoncgp 9,283
Getting rid of Shotton's wages surely goes some way to not needing to sell Britt or Fry too.
